- This is an abridged version of the live stream from 4-23-2023 about several beginner time words, including 지금, 이제, 나중 and 나중에, 이따 and 이따가, 아까, 조금 전에, 방금, 동안, 오래, 오래되다 and 오래 걸리다, 오랫동안, 오랜만 (오래간만) and 오랜만에 (오래간만에), 전 and 전에, 후 and 후에, 이전 and 이전에, 이후 and 이후에, 얼마, and 얼마나 (as both a question and a statement).

Actually always I have to see such episodes of parts that are abridged from live classes. I am never able to catch any live because at the time that you do the live there is night in India. "얼마나 맛있었는데!" Ah! That explains one of the many very unnatural sections of the Elementary School curriculum, then, that contains weird statements like, "How heavy!" and "How big!" 😪
ah, is there really no use at all of 오랫동안 with e.g. 걸리다?
just that I thought, maybe this might be possible:
오래 걸렸다 = it took a long time (past[/preterite])
오랫동안 걸렸다 = it was taking a long time (past continuous)
You wouldn't use it with 걸리다, but you can use it with other verbs as I explain :)

With 동사+는 동안 does it mean that the 2nd action happened at a singular point during that time the 1st action happened, or for the same amount of time?
드라마를 보는 동안 전화를 받았어요 (one point in time)
드라마를 보는 동안 운동했어요 (continuous action)
And how is this structure different from the 면서 structure?

4:08 Is it supposed to imply the meaning... When it's my time for watching TV, I exercised "instead"?
Because I think if both actions are happening "simultaneously", shouldn't we use " -면서 " ?!
Am I right?
