    Great bike! Purchased leftover 2017 in April and 2700 miles later it’s far exceeded my expectations! Also own a 2016 R1 that I’m selling because the KTM gets all the love now! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

      Ditto on my 2016. My Suzuki 1250S is just sitting under a cover.

      Do you really enjoy it Randall? Is it good for longer rides? Maybe 400-500 mile days

    Chaser2win: you comment that the bike has too much power. I have a Super Duke GT and, yes, it has LOTS of power, but it is also very tractable. It can be ridden along in traffic without any dramas. Throttle goes both ways, and if/when you want to go fast the GT does oblige.

    • @Chaser2win
      @Chaser2win  Před 5 lety

      Agreed, but if you do open it up its too much 😱😍 lovely hahaha

      Nah. Been on a superbike with 180 hp? That's when you start to think how everything else feels mild. The KTM models are all about the torque which is great for all around use.

    Was thinking about trading in mye 890 duker with a superduke gt 2018 mod, i had test run on it yesterday and i wasnt so impressed, the front felt unstaple in the turns and the engine felt detuned.
    Any reason how to explane this?
    It had all panniers on, but is that the Main reason?

  • @markshag5149

    Nice review thanks, I bot one without a test ride. No test pilots allowed at my dealership! The quick shift is needed on acceleration (because you need to hang on with both hands) downshifting tho is no problem.

    • @Chaser2win
      @Chaser2win  Před 5 lety

      Hell yeah your need to hold on haha! Weird that the dealer doesnt allow a test drive tho..?! How are you enjoying the bike?

      @@Chaser2win Really like the ultra smooth throttle response right off idle - no passenger/rider helmet knocking when going slow. I would recommend getting the fuel dongle to help the lean fuel map at low RPM. Bike is just as silky smooth but way stronger and runs cooler too. Get dongles from Rottweiler ... 50 bucks (US) and well worth it. GT gives up 3 HP I think to the "R" but puts more torque in the middle RPM range where you use it in the real world. Keep doing reviews Chaser, you did a nice job.
      PS there is a video out there of a bone stock 2017 GT on track day - only item not stock is slick tires. The pilot surgically slices through the pack ... he is VERY good on brakes (understatement). One of the best riding videos I've ever seen. I'd include a link but don't want to intrude in your space.

    I hope you had a chance to run it hard thru some 'real' twisties. You had way too much traffic, and far too many straight roads to 'really' see what the bike is capable of. It's simply amazing how fast it goes thru the corners.

    • @Chaser2win
      @Chaser2win  Před 5 lety

      I believe you, i didnt have the chance to do proper twisties mate! I should retry according to your comment :D hehe!!

    • @masterspin7796
      @masterspin7796 Před 6 lety +2

      It is a little costly, you can save $5,000 if you buy one that has been at the dealer for a long time..sometimes it is better to wait..

    It's not the same as SuperDuke, the engine is de-tuned, it's doesn't have the same dash and same options.

    • @Chaser2win
      @Chaser2win  Před 5 lety

      Sales dude told me, so maybe in Holland its the same as the regular one?!

    • @eubikedude
      @eubikedude Před 5 lety +1

      It also has a semi-active suspension which the SDR does not have AFAIK.
      Looking forward to seeing the updated version soon with down shift on the QS. colour dash, LED headlights etc.

    • @NZ2STROKE
      @NZ2STROKE Před 5 lety +2

      its not detuned,same hp as the R until 2017 model r got a few more hp.They are retuned more for mid range

    • @NZ2STROKE
      @NZ2STROKE Před 5 lety +1

      and it has the exact same dash as the R model up until they changed to the colour screen on the new R

      @exothermal.sprocket Před 5 lety

      I've ridden them on demo back to back. The GT felt softer overall in power punch. Some of that is different tuning but cannot forget the extra 40-ish pounds of weight either.
      GT has that lovely 6+ gallon tank. The idea I could ride for miles and miles and never worry about needing gas? That's something getting more foreign on Japanese machines anymore with the stupid tank down-sizing.

  • @redwhiteandfuckingblue9974

    Why is it every reviewer calls the R the super duke. their both Super duke. Ones an R and ones A GT ..ugh
