I am too.
Before I became a flight attendant I was late for everything. Being a flight attendant made me so much more responsible in every aspect of my life. For work, I made sure to give myself a 20 to 30 minute cushion of time in case traffic was bad or car trouble, etc. At hotels on overnights for work if someone isn't downstairs waiting for the van at least 5 minutes early, in my mind they're late. It's amazing how my mindset changed because of my job.
The people at the beach were a Jewish couple who were ritually immersing some new kitchen items in order to make them usable in a kosher kitchen
I would have been soooo stressed out being âlateâ like that! I always try to arrive 15-20 mins early for anything - work, appointment, etc. - so when it does happen that Iâm not early, I just stress out, looking at the time every other minute!
The lamps do seem to look nice!
In orthodox judaism you have to kosher all new dishes and pots and pans in a ritual bath or in the ocean before using them for the first time. That is what they are doing.

Dont put yourself through that, be a few minutes early, not a monumental amount of time but 10 mins will save your sanity. It is well worth it!

You don't WANT to be that way...trust me. Was born on my due date & always rushing to get somewhere...so think it got used up there. You can plan ahead, leave early & something happens...go figure! đ

My stress level would be off the charts if I got some place with less than 5 minutes to spare. Iâm usually there minimum of 10-15 minutes early for my own peace of mind-itâs how Iâm wired. I would be sick to my stomach all of the time if I did it any other way. I was so stressed for you!

If you know being late has such terrible consequences then you should make sure you are early every time. Set your clock ahead if thatâs the only thing that will work.

Happy Sunday! Being late is the worst feeling. As a nurse, I cannot let someone who has worked 12 hours at night not go home on time. My husband is the exact opposite. Makes me wonder... he has only worked for himself and I've always worked for someone else?

Stella, I hope this was a wake-up call in terms of not skating on the edge of being late anymore -- as you pointed out, it can cause so many trickle-effect problems for everybody else in your line of work. And if it happens more than once it might end up costing you your job. Make a point to be onsite no later than 10 minutes before call time and you won't have to worry about these issues. There's no excuse for being late; good thing you weren't vlogging at that time because that could have gotten you into MAJOR trouble if your manager finds out you were late because you were vlogging! Play it safe, set three alarms, be out the door with lots of time to spare. Especially living in DC!

The people putting the pans in the ocean are "toveling" them. It's a Jewish practice that whenever buying new cookware or plates etc we dip them in a natural body of water before using them so they are ritually purified.

0:07 That feeling is why I am almost always 15-30 mins early for every commitment/appointment that pops up in my life! I'd rather chill out in the parking lot, drink coffee, and collect my thoughts than panic rush into anything that life throws at you. I'm glad my parents passed this good habit down to me. I could not even begin to imagine what it's like being the person who shows up right as that clock strikes that deadline.

I think the anxiety of signing in late exhausted you. It was a major stress-related experience, plus the mental prep we all do with just planning for the work day. Glad you rested the next day.

Oooh glad you're feeling better! There's always a bug going around this time of year. You may have even had breakthrough covid (getting covid even tho fully vaxxed). Slightly different symptoms (intense lethargy, chills, etc.) but goes away quick. Had the same thing, seems to be pretty common.

Stella, your enthusiasm and good nature are infectious. I always feel good after watching your videos!! As for the living room lamps, I LOVE THEM! I have only one minor suggestion. Try setting them in the center of your end table rather than pushing them to the back. They will look symmetrical and neat that way. I realize that you probably want the most space that you can get on your end table when you're sitting there, so just push them back when you're using the table, otherwise let them sit in the center. Love you so much (in a friendly CZcams way!)

That hotel with the other pool on the side of the building you were looking at is called Acqualina. The acrylic wall is amazing and around 7-8 inches thick.
It also has a bottom on it so you are looking down the entire building.

I really like your videos Stella so much Iâm glad you made it on time but even though youâre a few minutes late that day I know the stress of that as I work on the airline industry. In the Airport world at the airport we get a zero minute grace period with my company but we get to leets a year up to 15 minutes. I know the stress of being late and sometimes running close to your arrival time is very stressful and you feel bad the whole day about it so yes on the performance in this industry is paramount. I hope you have a great holiday season

I love the new lamps, they seem perfect to me. Re your almost late check-in; my father was in the military so he drilled into us the importance of being on time, so much so that I stress now about not being late for appointments. I will leave earlier than I have to leave and wait at the other end just so Iâm not late. I always stress when you give yourself about three minutes to get downstairs (when you are at a hotel during a layover) to catch the ride back to the airport; Iâm always thinking, âhurry Stella, what if the elevator is slow?â đ

I'm not even routinely a late person but it would make me so, so nervous to have to be Aviation Industry on time all the time. I'd be a nervous wreck. It was bad enough at this one office corporate job I had where people would legit have car wrecks and get an occurence for being late (I once had a serious pet emergency the morning before work and was told next time to call over 4 hours ahead of time if I needed to be late and got an occurence...sorry my dog didn't almost die on your schedule?), it put the fear of god in me about being late lol Have to say, it has been a huge nice thing about working from home...also that hotel was GORGEOUS! Totally living through you! (minus the stress lmao!) so glad it worked out for you in the end!
