Lip J is not just a typical waacking judge level. She's actually respected even in New York and Russia. She goes there to win championship, be part of the judges, and conduct workshops (that's why she's also fluent in English). She was once mentioned in New York Times article on the "History of waacking", a co-judge sitting across Tyrone Proctor aka the father of waacking/the last original Soul Train dancer from the 70's, and a friend of Princess Lockeroo aka the "Queen of waacking" and the first and favorite student of Tyrone in 2004. She is not just Korean or Asian level of waacking, she is all the way UP there and people may not be aware of this 'cause she never mentions it and stay lowkey.
She was one of the first Lockerooo students, and after that they became friends. LipJ is a worldwide waacking legend.

tbh i think streetwoman fighter was really more of a reality show than a competition. that's why the judges were idols for more popularity

I want them to be the judges tho. But they want to promote their group so it's unfair if they're judging their crew or it's unfair if the crew has no leader (if Monika will be the judge)
Lip J is literally a living legend in Waacking. Not only in Korea but the entire Waacking community in the world recognize her esp the Founder of Waacking and the Queen of Waackinv. One of the most prolific and decorated Waacking dancer and she's just 34.
Respect to these ladies, they're definitely on the league of their own. Teacher of dancers & international dancing judge. I'm happy for their new popularity.
she is actually recognized by tyrone proctor, one of the notable founders of waacking as we see it today. her musicality is off charts. that judge showcase that she did on the deck was one of the best as I haven't seen much of waackers dancing to classical music.
I still can't believe when I attended LipJ's workshop in India..she truly lives upto her name and beyond! She even prepared a Bollywood routine overnight to surprise us❤

3 years ago, I travelled from Myanmar to Singapore just to attend her dance workshop. People from all over the world came to the dance jam and her dance workshop. She was a judge there too. Too bad koreans didnt really appreciate real talent. She's a world star.

Monika, Choi Hyojin and Honey J could easily be the judges of swf but mnet decided to have a male dancer and 2 celebs like this is a produce show . Dont get me wrong i love BoA and Taeyong bcus they are great performers, but their experience itself weren't on the same level as these dance legends.
And i really hated mnet for doing choi hyojin dirty. By placing her in a crew that was made solely for the show, you can see that she is the only leader that doesn't get the same popularity like how other leader gets these days. Its a shame bcus she is a monster among all other leaders and the elimination round was just a tiny bit of what she can actually do. And we only get to see how well she could dance at the end of the show bcus all this time, she was painted "the nicest leader" and thats it.

Just to clarify, mnet didn't make her crew for her, she chose the people herself. She was asked if she wanted to be a leader in the show and if she did, she would have to inv other dancers to be in a crew with her as members. I'm guessing there was an expectation for her to choose students from 1million (like Lee Jung and Aiki)
lachica officially members only has 3 members and 2 were invited as friends/close coworkers, wayb only has 4 members but invited a friend to make it min 5 members in each crew. YGX isn't a "crew" either, they are part of lee Jung's dance academy. Hook's not a crew either, they are all Aiki's students at her dance studio (Real Beat Studio). The only ones that are actually a "dance crew" with all original members were Holy Bang, Prowdmon and Coca n Butter.
@@MissyxAkunai gonna clarify a bit, Prowdmon actually also formed pretty recently. MoLip already together for years while the rest of prowdmon are MoLip students and fellow dance teacher in OFD (if you noticed, apart from MoLip, the rest of Prowdmon are still pretty young)
@@MissyxAkunai I just want to add infos. YGX crew is already a crew. It's not Lee Jung's dance academy. YGX Academy is owned by YG Entertainment and was established in 2014 and they have their own building too. Before, YGX crew is only composed of Kwon Twins, and dance crews such as YSL, Hi-Tech(mainly male dancers) and Crazy (where Isak is part of and who just joined YG last year- this crew leads by RARMG and Silvergun). These dance crews of YG had been part of YGE for over a decade now. In 2019, Lee Jung left Just Jerk Team and joined YGE. Apparently, another dance crew of YGX was formed in 2020 and it was named as NXW. NXW leads by Lee Jung Lee along Jihyo, Yell, Yeojin and other dance members too. During SWF, NXW dance team + Isak of Crazy was named as YGX dance crew as they represent YGX dancers. Moreover, during SWF's MEGA mission, Lee Jung has the resources to acquire more dancers from other YGX dance crews but she chose to get students from X/YGX dance academy to train them and let them experience on how to perform on a big stage.
Fun Fact: In YGX dance academy, there's a level of a dance class if someone is going to enroll there. Y class is for beginners or to those students who dance just to learn or make it as their hobby, G class for those students who are learning to dance for auditions' purposes and X class is for those students who are going to compete locally and internationally. YGX dancers are their teachers. Even Monika of Prowdmon, Honey J of Holy Bang, and Heuhyun (former YGX dancer and a close friend of La Chica's Simeez) became dance teachers in X/YGX during the Summer Session. Even Yomeki and Mina Myoung of 1MILLION Dance Studio hang out in X/YGX Academy and have a collaboration with some of YG dancers.
@@ashashborn7307 NXW started in 2019 w lee Jung and a few other guys who were teachers at the time at x academy. they were the collective of the teachers and affiliates who taught at the academy. Yell was previously a student at X academy and joined the crew officially in mid 2020 (she wanted to learn more types of dances beyond break dancing after MBC's Dancing High, spoke about it before on her insta after the show aired in 2018).

People commenting abt how they should be SWF judges instead seem to not really understand how show rating works. Yes, Lip J is a legend. So is Monika, Honey J, and many others. But they are legends in the dancing scene. The general public don't know them. Which is why SWF was made to promote the dancing teams to the general public WHO KNOWS NOTHING about dance or the dancing scene. The point of the show was to build a solid fandom for dancers, it was not a dancing competition like the ones LipJ or Monika or Honey J often be judges for. No one except dance fans would've started watching if no known celebrities were involved in the show, esp. since they were aired on Tuesdays.
