You are correct. But for standard domestic oil application the black will be just fine. PS: cut the music when you are talking it is distracting. Nice Vid..

Si I did not quite understand , when you put the bead of silicone are you suppose to wait for it to dry before placing the cover and bolting it down, or do you put it all together, wet and tighten down?

depends on the size of the gap. if it is like an old stamped valve cover it would actually work better than the cut gaskets.
