You know my mom bought the book for me way before the movie was a thing and I loved it. I saw the trailer for the movie and wanted to cry because THAT is how I pictured all of them! I was so heartbroken when I found out the movie didn’t do good? THEN I see this show “shadowhunters” and my mom said ‘omg you have to watch this show.’ I was so disgusted to be honest. So here I am years later and I think the show got canceled? (THANK THE ANGEL!) So I said ‘F it, I’ll try!’ I somehow got through maybe 4-5 episodes. I think just to see what happens. On another note my husband actually likes the movie which shocked me. He didn’t make it 10 minutes into episode 1 before saying ‘this is garbage I can’t watch this!’ I’m so disappointed that they changed the characters, the story in my opinion seemed soo rushed. People say the movie felt rushed but what about the show?! Literally the ONLY one in the show that didn’t make me mad by looking at them was Alec, still don’t like it but the TV series Jace made me so angry! Valentine in the show was only ‘terrifying’ because he’s bald (for some reason?!) in my opinion. Lol. Johnathan Meyers literally made Valentine absolutely terrifying in the movie if I would have met him in person I would have felt like he was going to force me to drink from the cup and just pray it didn’t kill me. 😅 Sorry for this huge rant. Aside from HP, THIS entire series is my absolute favorite! Book 6 of TMI, last maybe four chapters had me sobbing to the point I had to put my book down. I love everything in this world. Re-Reading Clockwork Angel as I type this. THANK YOU! For making this short and thank you to you and everyone in the comments that actually stand by the film because I felt like it captured the book so much and I get so angry and defensive about the movie when people claim that the movie sucked and the show is better. 😂 This video is great! 🎉❤ Okay, nowww I’m done ranting. ^^
I stand by your sentiment although I'm surely amazed you made it to 4 episodes on the show, I couldn't even get past 2 eps. I tried to watch the damn thing because I was craving for more TMI (cuz other than PJO, TMI also needs better live action) and thought maybe the series isn't so bad and the cast fits their characters. Seconds in, on the 1st episode I was already disappointed but hoped it will get better. By the time I started ep 2, I figured it just got worse and I simply cannot continue no matter how the show was branded as Shadowhunters with the titular characters. It was just not right...

Your husband was right, it was really cringey that's why I couldn't continue and I swear to God I hated the Isabelle in the show, she just feels so off. I don't even understand why people didn't like the Isabelle in the movie, she was portraying her so well, she acts like how Isabelle should act and has a very striking beauty at that. The Jace and Clary was absolutely cringey. I remember when Simon was taken by vampires, Jace is supposed to teach her how to use a seraph blade to defend herself from vampires, that was so forced sexual tension that its hard to watch. Compare it to the church scene in the movie where Jace gave Clary that vampire gun and taught her how to use it, it was so smooth plus you also get a glimpse of a jealous Alec, the sexual tension was played so well, you freaking feel it. There's a lot wrong in the movie, like where the hell is Rafael? But in the show, they straight up have Camille show up that early and was idk kinda borderline making out with Simon like wtf? I feel like, that was the point I seriously cannot go on. I was disgusted cuz that wasn't even in the novel, also Rafael is so out of character there. Like he was supposed to be somewhat against Camille, Rafael was really cool in the book and it doesn't makes sense that Camille was there. I seriously could go on at all the bad things in the show that I saw in like the 1st episode and half of the 2nd ep. Also that intro in the 1st episode is the worst introduction for Clary's character as someone who isn't supposed to be an ordinary girl. They ruined the suspense and mystery with a bunch of obvious flashbacks, something that was played really well in movie. Sorry for the rant, it still irritates me, I wish they make a new movie or show for TMI and would actually be better than the movie and none of whatever wrong was done in the show.
Dom did a good job portraying Jace but Jamie really did embody the character. The only edits I would have liked to see would have been a tan and possibly more muscle as Jace was described in the book to be a bit more tan and buff. Otherwise, PERFECT characterization

actually it is. the shadowhunters show on netflix is pretty terrible and the storyline is less accurate. this is the shadowhunters movie that i personally think is so much better as it is more accurate and entertaining.
