    I’ve been looking again at self sufficiency. This year the plan is to grow as much as possible in summer and then prep, bag, and freeze it. A chest freezer is like having a root cellar in the old days but it also preserves basil, courgettes, and all the summer stuff. And summers more fun for gardening in 😂Thanks for the channel 🙂

    Thank you, Ivan. I will be pulling up dazzling blue kale damaged by the white butterflies to move somewhere else after cleaning them up. If they don't survive the move, your idea of sowing more will help.

    Very informative and encouraging!👍I love to freeze and dehydrate our summer and fall produce that is extra. It give us delish good for us food throughout the winter.🙂
    I also make powders to save on space in my pantry: tomato skins for tomato pasta, pasta sauce, pumpkin, citrus, greens for green powder, and more!👩🏾‍🍳

    Just got an allotment, I'm just wondering if you have a pdf for your monthly sowing guide my partner will be following you videos after stripping and preparing the ground. Be handy if there was a pdf, he has alot of knowledge hasnt done anything in this large of a scale, so trying to reduce failure, so lots of research. If not he will follow your monthly sowing guide on here. I'd be happy to make a donation for this. Thank you and you got a subscriber.

    My lettuce 🥬 does not grow like lettuce you get in the store. It has a stem and then leaves. Do you know why this happens?

    • @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk
      @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk  Před 2 lety

      it may be leaf lettuce not heart lettuce thats a cut and come again type so harvest the outer leaves and let it grow on
      for a hearting lettuce try iceberg or saladin
      thank you
