- Guide for all GEARS AND GAMBITS HARD stages in Final Fantasy 7 VII Rebirth (FF7 Rebirth). To unlock them you must beat all Phenomenon Intel in Cosmo Canyon region. Then you can replay all Gears and Gambits minigames on hard.
This is similar to Fort Condor but instead you place robots to attack a boss in the middle. On hard you are limited to having 2 robots of each type at a time, but when they die can place more of them. You also can't use the automatic robot builder on Hard, must make your own build. Copy the build shown at the start of each stage here in the video. Always play the robot that counts the opponent. If the opponent has a red fire icon you play the T2 robot that has red color. If opponent has blue ice icon you play T1 blue robot, if opponent has yellow thunder icon you play the T3 yellow robot.
Putting the in-game difficulty to easy in game settings makes the "HARD VERSION" minigames much easier!

Tip:use the stage 4 set up for all the stages. You can set the advanced options to the multi foe one or survive 30 secs. I beat all 1st try using multi foe option.

It's so frustrating how many of these guides that people make for things like this that completely omit the important parts like that. Like, they spent a minute showing people how to change the difficulty and added the entire trophy list in the description of the video yet they couldn't find anywhere to put in something like that which is kind of crucial for people to set up their gambits. This is why I much prefer written guides, but it seems like all there are for any of the minigames for this game is video guides that are almost always only half useful. I swear they do it so people have to go back and watch them over multiple times to wrack up more watch time.

@@MasakiAndoh yeah, I realized they do have a written guide, but it doesn't say what they use for advanced condition for shock, so I had to watch the video to find out it was self hp < 50%. Had to go back multiple times to notice it because it was on a different lane.

I did not know setting the in-game difficulty would affect the mini game LMAO
breezed through the rest of it once i learned that,
I like most the mini games In this game but why are some overly complicated
my tin foil hat theory is they wanna see what sticks with the fanbase the most and then try to develop it into something more full blown.
Rebirth is too big and fun of a game for me to spend hours of time crafting the most optimal solutions to difficult and complex minigames, but I think it's awesome that Square put the time and effort into giving them such complexity and uniqueness. Yet another thing in Rebirth that shows they care.
this mini game is definitely a call back to ff12 combat system. They made a lot of references to other ff too.
@@manuelito1233I think they just want to max / stretch out the play time. It was advertised heavily that the game is going to be “100+ hours” while playing one of the side quests I had to follow the Robed dudes as they walk slowly which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. They definitely added a lot of unnecessary mechanics to stretch that play time.
@@moistman3110i agree, but while some are rly intuitive (like QB) gears and gambits is just too much. I normally just look at the builds created by ccs and then do the run blind myself, but having to actually build the AI is too much imo. I can see how it can be enjoayable for some tho

Last Gambit setup works for all stages, just follow the first few steps detailed in the video and wing it from there depending whatever happens. Don't forget to dump offensive spells on boss too, save for last HP bar to skip the final phase which has regen on some of them.

@@TinyT0ez I’m aware, that’s why I was asking because it was stated to change the difficulty but not explained that you need to chapter select and change the difficulty first. I was already in the hard mode play through at the time and was a little confused.
SE over thunk the mini games in Rebirth. Some of them were just time wasters and no fun at all. I have noticed that devs from japan have this weird sense of fun which is prolly why their games tend to bomb in the west.
Which is ironic since none of their games in recent years have "bombed". As a matter of fact they do better in the west rather than their own country.

Now, let's find a way of ruining people's experience? The game is very good and that can't happen. That's how they decided to create mini games that were supposed to be fun instead of extremely complex! I bought FF I don't want to stress about indie games within the game I bought! God...

@@jeatog_ It depends, in my case I'm looking for platinum and I'm 94 hours into the game, I have to do everything including things I don't like, it's all part of the experience. But overall the game is amazing! It was like the great Frank Sinatra said... "That's life."
@@jeatog_ they're obly optional if you dont want to get to party level 10 or dont want to do platinum. While platinul can be discussed, I really wish they did t do it, so that you need to succeed at them in hard mode to just get all the party xp you need
I hate that too, i surprisingly did fort condor on hard without a guide but this one? Cant even do the 1st one…it’s also way too complex with the added stuff on hard mode that makes it so tiring to always change tactics.

Some attacks are specific to a location, like Firaga shot is only available in stage 4 on hard mode

Are mini-games in actual game "Hard mode" necessary for Johny 7* trophy? Or you can clear them in hard mode inside easy game mode?
You can clear the minigames on any game difficulty. The difficulty options are only tied to the minigame themselves. Setting your game to easy mode actually translates to the other minigames, such as faster atb in fort condor.
Its like fort condo all over again..

Except Fort Condor was fun. This is just a more boring version of FF12

My game is on easy mode, I have the exact same loadout and I place my units at the exact same time as you... I'm getting melted, no game whatsoever

When your editing look at the top of the screen. Use auto program. Night and day difference

So everyone knows the condition he has for his shots is defeat 2 foes I believe I did his build with defeat one foe as condition for the shots and it worked out great.

Bruh, I've been trying to do this on dynamic the entire time. Once I turned it to easy even normal, it was a breeze.

it looks like the kill 1 baddie and then activate option. i did that and it seemed to work.

HOW COME MY CHOCOBO S NOT FLYING HIGH ENOUGH FOR THE LAST TWO RINGS ZZZZZZ. I KEEP MISSING THE TOP RING. SO FRUSTRATING
Just turn around and get some height again before you enter the last descent. Easy one with that tip. You do not have to reach every ring in one try. Get the all the rings before the last descent, turn around fly back to that height pushers, turn around again and then you will reach also the last two rings ;)
