Another request from the kids (Elijah and Jared, the soloist on "Eye Of The Tiger"), and even from some PS22 Chorus fans too. The song, Don't Stop Believin' is an eighties classic, and the fifth grade chorus extraordinaire deliver some rather outstanding harmonies to recreate it into something different and pretty darn special! Another surprise favorite of the year! And soloist Elijah gives Steve Perry a run for his money, doing a rockin' job with his amazing talent!
According to i-Tunes, Journey's "signature song, 'Don't Stop Believing', is the top-selling catalog track in iTunes history, at more than two million downloads". Maybe this will help score a few more.... :)
Should be noted that Journey once included American Idol judge Randy Jackson on bass and background vocals, although he came into the group after the release of this mega-hit.
Again, according to Wikipedia, the song has appeared in a number of film and television series, including The Wedding Singer, Family Guy, Monster, Shrek the Halls, Bedtime Stories, Yes Dear, The Comebacks, View from the Top, South Park, Cold Case, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, My Name Is Earl, Just Shoot Me, Laguna Beach, American Idol, Scrubs, The Sopranos, and Glee - Hudba
Every kid deserves a music teacher like this.
Lets give it up for the teacher - clearly those children like him.
Teachers should make learning fun and this guy obviously does.
This teacher is doing such an awesome job! These kids are not only learning to have an appreciation for music, they're learning to appreciate life and appreciate working with others in harmony. What a wonderful gift to bestow upon the world! I grew up singing in choirs ever since I was 4 years old & I'm in my late 20's now... 'Wish I'd had a music teacher like that.
The soloist is absolutely unbelievable! His voice is like silk! And the blend by these kids is amazing, whenever I need a break from my work, I just look up these videos and chill and appreciate the incredible talent of these singers!

This is what music is all about....the LOVE!!!
You know what I see in this choir that I don't see in many others nowadays? It's PASSION. Passion for singing. These kids also show alot of feeling when they sing the songs. Many people including those in choirs don't show any emotions and/or put in any feelings into the songs. Most of the time they look half dead. These kids are really good!!! Their choir teacher did a great job bringing out the best of each & every one of them. Kudos to you all!!!

My chorus teacher showed this to our class, and I was so moved. We don't have that kind of fun with our music the way you guys do. Usually it's just a bunch of drama. This is how music is supposed to be... passionate and beautiful.

I myself go to a high school for musical theatre and I have been doing show choir for a few years. The fact that your kids can harmonize so well at such a young is such an amazing, wonderful thing! We have high schoolers who have trouble with it! You have talented students who must have amazing teachers!

This is truly inspiring. I wish there were more dedicated teachers like you, and most importantly, leaders who realize that the arts is part of a balanced and well-rounded education. It's a pity that art programs are the first thing to be eliminated when there are budget cuts.
Nevertheless, please keep the good work--by continuing inspiring these children and teaching them that music is not only for entertainment, but a communication tool that both integrates and inspires.
I love how young all of these children are, and they just seem to absolutely love these songs, no matter how much older the songs are than them :) They look so much happier than most adult choirs I've seen. BRAVO! And its so wonderful to have a teacher that cares :) That's all a child needs to achieve their dreams :)

This is absolutely amazing! I have spent the last couple of hours watching the videos of this group of kids. KIDS.....kudos to you! Outstanding job! To your teacher.....you are what our kids need....someone who makes it fun and teaches that you can do WHATEVER you put your heart and mind too. The facial expressions, movement, voice, and the magic is alive in your performances. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! Thank you so much for moving me the way you guys and gals have. Cheers! =)
I don't know if all of these kids are natural singers but look at their faces. Each one believes they are. Bravo to the teacher for instilling so much confidence and excitement in music. The joy of song.

I was in chorus for many years growing up. It was a great way to get away from the troubles I had at home. I'm glad these kids have someone who is working for them. Keep it up.

Kids are great, the song is great, the way the pianist/music teacher is so motivating for the kids, its just awesome, the kids are having fun, I enjoyed it. What more can I say.... BRILLIANT!!!
Man every face I saw was really into the music these kids really love to sing! They lookk so happy it made me happy..it wod be great to see a preformance in person these kids have great energy as they interpret the songs!
listen... I watch this now for months everytime I'm depressed and while I'm watchin this I feel better and better. I love these kids and you. This is real work and they've got a lot of talent!
You can teach anyone to read music and play an instrument, but you can't teach feeling or heart. In every performance, these kids FEEL the songs. THIS is why we need music, music teachers, and music education in schools. Thank you for trying to show everyone why music and the arts matter. It's about time we focused on something other than standardized tests.

This is so unbelievable.. It is like in one of those movies where they get a new choir teacher, and he like pulls together a group of different kids that are obliged to attend the choir but are totally uninterested in it. And inspite all odds they all become one, have the time of their lives and sing unrealistically good..the only difference is..This is for real...you are amazing guys!!!
