I have a couple of legends and the carolina gents, along with a few of the fancier ones with the real stems. Great pipes. I think as europians our corncob pipe equivalents are the mr brogs. Cheap pearwood pipes. Great smokers
You bet they’re still relevant, and not just as beginner pipes. I have well over 100 briars but still smoke cobs frequently. They’re fantastic smokers. Are they the perfect pipe for every smoke? Of course not…no one material is. But you nailed a number of their good qualities.
I love corncobs ,if im working it makes sense it’s no hardship if it’s dropped and kicked across the floor. If it was a dunhill you’d be bricking it incase it was damaged. I have 7 of them ,they all get smoked and smoke grand everyone should have at least one in there collection 👍🦡
