Patreon supporter here. Seriously not a fan of the music, although thankfully it wasn't too intrusive. My wife said it best (we watch while having Saturday supper every week). The music impinges on the solitude of the surroundings, which frankly is the number one attraction of the channel for us. As viewers, we love watching these adventures as if we were out there ourselves, with our own soundtracks (or none at all). I'm just glad there are no drone videos, to further take us out of the scene. I want to imagine what it's like to be behind the wheel of that orange JK, lockers engaged, swaybar disconnected, traversing a primitive 2-track in a part of the country that would otherwise take me 14 days of drive to get to and from. I love the visuals but the sounds of nature are the best sountrack.

Just my opinion, so please dont take it the wrong way.
I’m not a fan of the music. I liked that your channel was a stript down and focussed on locations and didnt make things out to be gradiose beyond what they reaaly are. Most CZcamsrs overlay epic music onto their videos to give the illusion of more than someone simply driving their vehicle down a dirt road. Its not an epic adventure if you step out of your vehicle and you are wearing flip flops just to showcase your gear or product your paid to advertise. Not that you do, but some of these CZcamsrs do.

A few thoughts on what is happening right now:
    > you now put musics in your videos
    > you seemingly lowered the framerate in some shots to get a more "cinematic" look
    > please for the love of good, don't change everything what fans love about your channel (e.g. the lack of music)
    > right now, I feel in every episode you take one more element away that made your channel outstanding
    > you're maybe trying to remodel your channel to a new audience, but you might lose your old viewers and that might not be a good idea
    > maybe talk about the changes and what the direction of this channel is going to be, so the old timers and the base of your viewers here don't feel ignored

Thanks for the info and clarification of these two GPS apps. We have neither but are considering the use of one. We liked what music was playing on this particular video, there wasn't much; sometimes a channel will play something that doesn't fit at all and then we turn the sound off, missing out on the "wheeling" sounds. I've seen a couple of videos that had no speaking, either. I think one of them might have been a recent one of yours. That can be nice too. 'Given a choice we'd opt for no music. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Thank you for your comment. This was my first time using music in a “normal” weekly V4WD video. It was kind of an experiment, I’m enjoying trying new things. I also really like the natural sounds; for this one, the desert was SO quiet and still it needed a little “something.”

No disrespect at all but I feel like the venture4wd experience all but gone in a sense. I’ll 100 percent keep watching to support a great human but what brought me here originally is no more. But wouldn't be surprised if this is the new normal. An acknowledgement of that would be nice though, if it's true.
P.S. He's the second channel I've seen start pushing OnX hard. The other was Lifestyle Overland. Is OnX doing this or is something going wrong with Gaia? Lifestyle Overland said they had issues, but didn't say in what way. Anyone got any ideas?

Not sure if I want to put in the time; money or effort at this time. Going professional drone pilot involves committing to higher standards with higher civil liabilities and in most cases being bondable and insured. And the FAA FINES are out of this world. Chris has settled in southern Arizona, for better or worse…
    My wife and I lived in Pima County for five and a half years before leaving the state. Lots of reasons, but here’s a few examples;
    (1) Poor medical community, doctors do not follow Medicare guidelines and get fined because of it. My wife had one doctor fired due to Medicare fraud…
    (2) Pima County Sheriffs Deputies do not follow the laws, preferring to rewrite them to suite the situation. They’re rude and condescending to the public, threatened my wife a couple of times. On one occasion she’d called into the Sheriffs office for some information but during the conversation the officer started snoring as he’d fallen asleep in the middle of the day…
    (3) Maricopa County is just as bad. They think it’s still the wild west and they can do as they please.
    (4) People are argumentative over any little thing, I’m thinking it’s the heat that’s fried their brains…
    (5) Drivers as well as law enforcement do not know rules of the road. No one yields upon entering a freeway instead everyone on the freeway has to erratically avoid oncoming vehicles…
I’m actually surprised we made it as long as we did living there. It’s a very strange place to live. We’ll probably never go back, just too much wrong. We’re much happier in New Mexico, the people are so much nicer, police don’t harass you, and it’s not nearly as hot…
Chris my best advice would be to leave Arizona ASAP.
