  • Are your fingers getting tired from all of these super tactile switches? Are you missing that Ergo Clear feeling? Then check these out. The Cerulean, manufactured by Durock, is a new medium-tactile switch (similar to Kinetic Lab Penguins & Zealios v1). It features a transparent, blue-tinted, full nylon housing, POM stem, and 65g gold-plated spring. It's also a 5-pin switch, and is factory lubed.
    The keyboard used for typing tests is the Think6.5v1.

    Instant like for having an ergo clear to compare to. Finally someone who has the og to compare to when so many "ergo clear-like" switches have come out. Thank you!

    Your visual and detailed descriptions were excellent when explaining the nuances of many of these switches. One of my most favorite keyboard videos all around in a while. Looking forward to more videos

    Nice review and analysis! I like that you were able to contextualize these switches with the classic Ergo Clears.
    In a world of Zealios, Bobas, and Pandas I'm very happy that there is still support for lighter tactile switches.
    After all, its not just the size of the tactile bump, but how you use it!

    This is probably the closest "ergo clear like switch", Thank you for the review and comparisons!

    Great video as always! Watched it even though I'm linear gang, haha. I will say though, these are quite pretty switches!

    I now watch your videos to test my mental fortitude and resilience to getting new switches lol

      I’ll save you some effort 😛, I’m gonna take a break from individual switch reviews for the time being. Have some other videos I need to get to making

    Great video. I'm building my wife a board and she knows she prefers tactiles but my linear gang ass only had stock MX browns and clears for her. She thinks the clears are too heavy and the browns are fine but she can't really feel a bump. This seems perfect.

    Have you also tested penguins? They’re said to be similar to ergo clears too apparently. Would be interesting to see how they compare

    Hey sounds pretty good stock!

    • @jimmynguyen973
      @jimmynguyen973  Před 3 lety

      for sure! i think the full nylon housing is helping with that, giving it more of a muted sound vs a PC housing

    I've been using ergo clears for quite a while, and noticed you said they're "medium" tactile. Could you recommend me something that's a bit more tactile and has a sharper bump more centered in the travel?

  • @xfrozn
    @xfrozn Před 2 lety

    hi may i know if you like this better than the penguins? i put some in my board and i literally cannot take it out without destroying the switch housing so um idk if this is the one for my board lol. i like this bump and i heard it's similar to naevy and penguin so jsut wondering

    I'm curious did anyone compare these vs the outemu sky?( also an ergo clear alternative )

    Thanks for this. Realizing my MX Clears are too heavy for my left pinky and looking into tactile alternatives. V helpful! Hey, where'd you get that rad escape key?!

    Do these benefit from being filmed? Or are the tolerances good enough to not rattle when typing?

    • @jimmynguyen973

      dont need film, but if you want a deeper sound profile film usually helps with that

    How would you compare these to the Tecsee Purple Pandas?

    • @jimmynguyen973
      @jimmynguyen973  Před 2 lety +2

      less tactile than the purple pandas by design, choosing the 2 will depend on how much tactility you want
