No, not the page, but God will. And He will judge harder when you teach singing believers a heretic message.
Sure this message can be refreshing, but it's a totally lie.

I live that everyday, my spirit has become restless...so I totally understand what she is saying. Please pray for the Lord to lead me in the direction that He wants for me. Blessings Noemi

For anyone confused about what she's saying Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 18:3 Then he said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

To avoid confusion read it in the context:
      Matthew 18
1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.

I don't necessarily have am issue with Ms. Cook per se, I have an issue with her claims that her music is Biblical. Where does the Bible say that the gospels were written by "teenagers who were jotting stuff down"? If she wants to call herself a New Age teacher and refer to Anne Lamott as a mentor, fine. But her claims do not line up with Biblical truth.

    • @FirstNameLastName-pg3pi
      @FirstNameLastName-pg3pi Před 3 lety

if you do Historical research you'll know that majority of the disciples were teenagers and young adults. and the Gospels were written by those teenagers who wrote(or jot) down what was happening. her music is Biblical, Spiritual, and emotional though

Honesty in songwriting is one thing, because where we are at and being vulnerable with that place, is one thing, but calling our truth "truth" and not holding up our worship song lyrics to the word of God is dangerous, foolish, and wicked. Call evil, evil, and good, good, but don't start mish-mashing new age in to the church and branding it Jesus, it's not. The only beginning you need to return to, is the beginning of time, when Adam and Eve sinned, and they transgressed against God because they listened to a twisted re-wording of what the Lord said, and naively went venturing off into death.
Your childlike-ness, is supposed to be in faith, toward / for God. You are actually supposed to be mature in sound doctrine.

    • @lindileach

I think you got the wrong impression of what she was saying; my impression of what she means is that you should write as if no one is judging you, bcus it would be hard to write honestly if your mind is focused on what others will think about your truth. I’m gonna speak for myself and say I try to write the most honest lyric and then I go back and make sure I’m not saying anything that’s not biblically true as I want people to hear my honest as well as biblical truth when they hear my songs. 💗 I’m pretty sure many other worship leaders do the same thing.

Man why do we always put down our co Christian, yes songwriting is a coping mechanism and a process. We keep on pointing out others mistakes yet we don’t see ourselves. Man what if she mean something about that, it’s not that God is dead she knows that pf course. Man do you think Jesus would do that? Do you think Jesus would speak the way you speak to her? The way you point out her wrong doing. Man even us keeps on sinning even you, yet God in His grace still utilize us in furthering His kingdom. Don’t look at her base on her mistakes, instead look at her by how Jesus would. Man that’s why Christian are being criticize for this very reason, let’s show everyone that even if they sin show them that you understand and that you love them just like Jesus.

@@ebed5956 It's not that one sentence that we might misunderstand. In the entire video Amanda is teaching heretics.
You are right that people must see Jesus in us by our love. But does love prefail above truth? John chapter 1 verse 14 says that Christ dwelled among us full of Truth and Grace. Both has to be in balance.
Truth without Grace is like whipping.
      Grace without truth causes heretics.
So what's truth? God's Word. Is it important? Just as important as 'Love your neighbour'. We found that Divine Rule in.... God's Word!

  • @ODEMUZIC
    @ODEMUZIC Před 5 lety +8

Hear what she says at 7:00. In fact she says God is dead. When you write worshipsongs for God, your lyrics has to be according to God's Word. When it's not, you're lying about God and you're worshipping your self. Seeking for your innocent child keeps you seeking cause it never existed. We're born into sin and no matter our age, each human needs salvation.

@Jayden Last Name She doesn't mention these words, no. But her entire speech tells she has a nonbiblical theology. Look what she says:
1:31 '...we tend to come into life pretty whole and pretty free'
A baby looks innocent because it isn't developed yet. When a plant just comes out of the soil you can't see what colour the flower will be. But the colour is already in there. Latent.
1:43 Since when is 'being yourself' a biblical goal? 'Be holy', says the Lord, 'for I am holy' (Leviticus 20:7). Toddlers aren't holy.
Toddlers show operant behaviour. That's what she describes. Cause is that their brain isn't totally developed yet. Ask professionals who work with toddlers. Are they sinless? You know the answer.
2:32 '...we need to be whole hearted - that's part of what Jesus did on the cross for us'
Jesus died for our sins. Believing that saves us from God's punishment. Because we're sinners. Ofcourse it's okay to pray to be whole hearted (Psalm 86:11). But we will be it in the new life, not in this one.
2:55 '...to remember what was dismembered'?
That's such a strange exegese of what the criminal on the cross next to Jesus asked! They never met before, only there on Golgotha. They went through such agony on that cross, they could hardly speak. So when this criminal asked Jesus to remember him, do you really think he makes a cryptic sentence with double meaning? Ofcourse not!
4:00 'Writing becomes a spiritual practice of remembrance. It's a way of salvation'
So you can save yourself by remembering your innocent child?? Dream on!
6:44 '...when we elevate one thing above the other (...) Not fair...not fair'
What about the Word of God? You must not elevate God above what you're writing?
7:00 '...for the sake of our own soul (...) we have to treat the page like it's never gonna judge us.'
No, not the page, but God will. And He will judge harder when you teach singing believers a heretic message.
What on earth has 'my honesty' to do with God's Truth? If it would be the same, I didn't need salvation.

I think we need to stop acting as if God were needy and He needs to worship him, and start looking for ways we can become more and more ourselves in His original plan. It's through this improvement (possible just because of Him) that we begin to give Him glory. It has nothing to do with being a "wounded child", it has to do with understanding that "the moment of worship" it's nothing more than God reprogramming us to do, little by little, what we were programmed to do in every time, because of the original imagem of God on man. And in His original plan every action is an act of worship.

    • @islaoliveira9734

“A tree gives glory to God by being a tree. For in being what God means it to be, it is obeying him. It ‘consents,’ so to speak, to his creative love. It is expressing an idea which is in God and which is not distinct from the essence of God, and therefore a tree imitates God by being a tree. The more a tree is like itself, the more it is like him. If it tried to be like something else which it was never intended to be, it would be less like God…" - Thomas Merton - New Seeds of Contemplation
