I've seen an actual recording session for Psychostick take place with a microphone taped to a Flintstones car. THIS doesn't surprise me whatsoever.

A story I heard in Kansas years ago. It is one my favorites, it's of Alex, The engineer thought he'd bargained a good hourly rate and work on an multi hour project. Then he recorded Alex playing the album in one flawless take. So Pro! Lol
It's painful how accurate this is. It got so bad toward the end of my last band that I (the guitarist) would just go back after the bassist had "finished" and left and rerecord everything myself. He was always out of key, out of rhythm, out of time, and had no bottom end in his sound. I would just listen for any parts that seemed even remotely distinct and then incorporate them into the better parts I recorded so that he wouldn't know the difference. He never figured it out.

Now be honest, how accurate is it when you record for real? I'd say like 60%-70%
your monitors are set up wrong, youll have phase cancellation issues set up on their sides like that

The attitude from the man I last had a recording session with while playing the bass was an absolute asshole and looked at me like I wouldn't be able to play the bass. I did almost this same exact thing to mess with he guy. It cost me a pretty penny but it was worth it!

I play bass myself and by minute 3 that guy would be lying on the floor convulsing in unimaginable pain, though i have experienced this with a few guitarists. The bass players were too chill to be nonsensical.
