    The more you ride a onewheel the more it becomes part of you. I ran out of power for the first time on my GT but I was able to get two extra miles by riding down some hills to regenerate some power to get back home. You don't realize how epic this board is until it takes you on some crazy adventures and you end up getting lost. The fun part is to take it somewhere that you have never been and see how far you can get. I plan on riding this thing until the wheel comes off!!

    Foamies take out the gnarly knife edge, the Half & Half will being it down to the right level, the Enduro will alleviate the rough tire, and the fenders keep the road salsa from kicking up into my kilt. Almost there. Almost.

    Best R&D team on the planet. Imagine if a company consulted this team during development as to what they’d like to see in a board instead of striving to put third party out of business, instead of making hard edges and goofy tire size, instead of weird electronics pairing and super sensitive contact switches, instead of weird damage control videos and pseudo apple presentations with insane advertising budget. The only people I’ve met that love the GT are noobs(hey nothing wrong being a noob)or low mileage pint owners.

    What are your thoughts not he lightning rails that seem to offer a similar level of drop?

    • @JakeLeary
      @JakeLeary  Před 2 lety

      I won't be doing the offset, I don't think enough people will want GTXR and lowered. The Lightning rails don't really have any drop unless you stand close to the tire, but they also don't reduce clearance like the lower kit does.

      actually no. The higher the footpads are, the more leverage you put on the board which makes the board work harder. You have to remove the blocks. So it takes about 20 minutes to swap one way or the other.

      Yup, fm is dumb enough to not figure out they could add the extra cells to the free space in the controller or... even...... the xr casing... so make their ( their words ) "trail board" top heavy and un stable.

      I’m at 500 . I’ve owned it for about 5 weeks. I definitely think lowering it would make a huge difference for the better. Dropping my air pressure down from 20psi to 14psi made a unbelievable difference

      @@JakeLeary Ive got a few thousand miles on my XRs and also felt really uncomfortable on the GT at first. I was sad actually. I told myself I'd give a thousand miles to acclimate to what I considered the GT to be, a totally different board.
      After 1200 miles I can't even look at my XRs anymore.
      My opinion dramatically changed after learning the GT. I'm glad I put the time in.
      I think it's cool people are trying to make the GT more like the XR but I also hope that there is a group of us out there working to really live up to our own full potential on a stock gt because if you put the time in you'll learn to ride that board just as good as you ever did an XR.
      Does the lowering kit produce any negatives other than reducing clearance?
      I've been following you since getting my first one wheel a little over a year ago and really respect you as a rider who also seems like a good person. Keep floating and shredding my man!

      @@nottoday7495 like somewhere between 40 and 60% of the experience I had accumulated on an XR didn't transfer well to the gt. That's just my personal experience. It will be different depending on accessories folks used on their xr. I had one completely stock XR and I had one with a custom back foot pad and flight fins. Both had stock Vegas (which I'm sure people will laugh at lol) When I think about it the biggest differences would be the hardness of the tire, feeling as if I am sitting up a little bit too high which is exactly what this video is addressing, and that even the smallest movements heel to toe would translate into big results due to the double concave foot pad design of the GT in addition to sitting up higher. I ultimately think it makes a more nimble board but there are cons (or you may think of it like I do, as a learning curve).
      The board has way more power and it'll just keep getting better with updates. But yes, quite a different feel for sure out of the box.

    Lower means less clearance no ?? Thought they made this for "trail riding" why then is it so "meh" stock for trails ?? Ive had zero needs for a gt, hills are no issue on my xr , it has a better feeling tire ( riding a nimbus ) and with cbxr is outrages the gt..
