I’m no where near able to afford luxury things, but I think what I appreciate about you and your content is that you are unapologetic about your purchases and you don’t overly try to justify it. It is what it is. Actually, your content shows me that I do not need luxury items. I see the shoes, the bags, the clothes, etc. I see you enjoy them and I’m so happy. But I don’t desire them. I basically enjoy them through you? Does that make sense? I love seeing the things you buy. I understand the appeal. But I don’t have to own them myself to enjoy your videos. You are a calm, real voice in a land of fake people and fake smiles.

I feel the same way and glad to see it articulated! I love watching Michelle unbox things I would never buy/can't afford and truly love them - not for status, but because she actually likes them. I've learned to appreciate the fancy things I can afford in the same genuine way.

This may sound crazy. But your vlogs have helped me through a very difficult time. My closest friend passed away three weeks ago, and your vlogs have been my escape. I enjoy them very much and they are very soothing. They have helped my mind to focus on something else. Keep them coming!

I love getting up at 5. I think my body reset at menopause but I automatically wake up. I love the quiet & alone time. Family complains my nespresso machine makes too much noise though.
I took on caring for my demented mom right as my own menopause crashed in. Truly a 36-hour day, as the book title says. I learned how to sleep anywhere - mostly sitting up in a bedside chair in a hospital room somewhere. So I sleep maybe three or four hours at a time. Mom's been gone 16 years, and I don't think I'll ever train myself to sleep better, at least not without drugs. Thanks for the videos - though your lifestyle is way different than mine, you are truly an enjoyable daily habit.

I’ve been waking up super early since my sons were small and now they’re grown adults. I am in the gym by 5 AM every day. It’s a magical time as you said. It’s a time before the regular day gets started and it’s almost like a meditation to yourself before the world takes over.
Working out early is amazing! If you are a good sleeper it’s great!!
Thank you for your comments about your pug. My Daisy is 15. She is a Maltese cross and has been the light of my life. She is in heart failure, and it has become very challenging as she wakes up about three times during the night. You validated that when our pets age, we must be there for them no matter what.

I wake up at 5:30 every morning. I too love the early morning hours. We live in a high rise condo in Chicago facing Lake Michigan. After I finish my skin care routine, etc. I love drinking my coffee and watching the sun come up over the lake. It’s a wonderful way to start the day.

27:23 This was an interesting question. I think if you have a good relationship that works. I was under the impression that a lot of modern relationship have separate finances. I would like to know in the comments here if you do and how that works. It sort of sounds like if you have a power struggle over finances that means you don't have a good relationship. That makes sense. 28:35 but you just said I am using my own cash... that is confusing to me if the finances are joint. I am just trying to understand how others make this work. I like having my own cash / accounts personally.
Agreed! I'm 47, have been married 2x and both times had completely separate banking accounts, cards, and split expenses 50/50. It's worked amazingly for me. I think primarily because I've been financially independent my whole life. There's also no worries about spending money that way. Of course nuances come into play. Just my experience! ❤

Michele darling … I am an early riser and I love it. I was a marathon runner decades ago and I was so very discipline with my training runs and preferred training early in the morning because so quiet and the fresh air totally loved it ! I completely agree with you. I still wake up early ❤ I do go to bed between 8/9. Thank you for sharing.
I wake around 4am every morning (not by choice) and in the summer I walk my dog, do some gardening, yoga and totally agree that it’s a magical time. However in the winter here in England where it doesn’t get light until 8am it is horrible, dark, cold and despite continuing with my yoga I hate those 4 plus hours waiting for the sun to come up.
I’m with you there, I tend to stay in bed trying to go back to sleep but it never works. But I’m too tired to get up. I don’t mind getting older and menopause but it has so affected my sleep.

I started getting up around 4 am for work at age 36. And I am glad I kept that habit. I changed my job at age 42 and I really needed to get up at 4 am bc my shift started at 6 or 6:30 am so I had to leave the house at 5 am. Now I am turning 44 yrs young I am loving getting up early every day and on my days off I just go back to sleep and get up at 8:30am when I am tired. Extra hours means that I get to see the sunrise, I get stuff done (work stuff , housework, organizing etc).

It’s so lovely getting up between 4-5am. If you live in an area very populated it’s so nice to know nobody is outside yet. I love taking a walk around our neighborhood.

I am exactly like you!! I wake up between 4 and 5 am every morning. Initially it was because of pain that I have in my neck and lower back. Now I just love the peace and quiet and being alone before the rest of my family wake!
I also enjoy those early morning hours. I'm alone and can do and be what i want. It started due to illness then work, and i absolutely love it, like you.
I'm not a morning person. I'm naturally a night owl, but I try to keep the normal schedule because I need to do stuff in the normal world. I wish I was an early morning person though.
I finally figured out why CZcams suggested you to me when your content is so different from everything else I watch - knitting! I watch a lot of knitting CZcams and I didn't realize you used to publish knitwear patterns! I checked them out on Ravelry and you designed a lot of beautiful things. Anyway, I love your videos. I never really got into beauty CZcams because it seemed so much younger than I am, but we are similar ages and I relate to you a lot. Gen X unite! I am both a morning and evening person. I’m awake at 5:30am on the weekdays and stay up late on the weekends. I love the quiet time in the a.m. too. Poor Miss Butters with a breakfast tray on her back! Old School and Trading Places are classics. Office Space is a must for those of us in corporate America. As for living in NY, as a New Yorker, I’m not ready to leave. Friends keep telling me to go, but I love the city and can see myself living here as a retired person. FYI…I have a potty mouth too. It’s a NYC thing😂

I am an early morning person as well… 5 am my eyes pop open. But I also go to bed really early. Farm chores dictated my hours and now my body is in the habit .. the hard part is when on the occasion I stay out late I regret it the next day because even though I’m tired I can’t sleep in .😊

I asked about the synthetic vs natural scented candles....thank-you for answering it! I avoided scented candles for decades because they gave me headaches as well. Then I bought some candles I was told were natural and loved them and now I'm hooked. But I haven't been able to figure out the synthetic/natural question either.
My brother is a marathon runner for years, he runs in every marathon and hes from the best at finishing likne from the first ones. I have declutered all of my 5 Path Mc Grath palettes this year and some of my ND as well and kept only I need a nude and glam. I think with the time, we do not feel the need to shine that much or to wear extravagant colours on the eyes. the only colours I used are from Lisa Eldridges Myth and Sorcery. This is as far I will willingly go.

Got up at 5am or before my whole working life since we were in dairy agriculture and cows need to be milked....every day.... NO exceptions. Sleeping till 6or 7 now is pure joy.
I learned to drive in a Pinto …. No way did any of my cars reflect that 😜. I totally get loving lower sporty car….. my first car was a Toyota Celica ST - I LOVED that car!
I know this is forward but I’m wondering how you dealt with finances- a Porsche 911 is like upward $120,000 etc. did you invest wisely? I don’t know anyone in knit supplies that could afford a 911 Porsche- and they don’t have children.
