      I am half chinese and half malay. I can speak chinese and malay and also english. Being in chinese school for 4 years was the most interesting experience although most of the teachers were strict. I just subscribe your channel because i really want to improve my mandarin as i have been not speaking mandarin for a long time. I only speak mandarin when I meet with my chinese family and my chinese friend. I feel really sad to not speaking mandarin continuosly and fluently. I hope by subscribing your channel I can slowly improve my mandarin. I love and more understand if the chinese speak a little bit slow and clearer.

    Thank you for the interesting video. My paternal grandfather is Chinese. But it's a shame I can't speak Chinese. I'm trying to learn Mandarin now. Malaysia should only have one school system. Being Malaysian, everybody should know and master the national language, English language as the second language and Mandarin, Tamil, and Arabic could be offered as the third language. There could be other languages for the Borneo island. This way, each of us could at least have the proficiency in three languages and understand others of different ethnics better. Way to go for social inclusion.

But now im 19 and learning in UiTM and I hope there's mandarin subject I could join for free in the future. For now, still learning by myself and have no clue till when will I be able to speak it >< I'm always stuck with tones. Always forget each tone for each word.

    I hope all Chinese and Indian in Malaysia can speak in Malay language in their daily life. Because Malay is the most common language as well as the National language to communicate in Malaysia. We Malaysian should be able to speak very well in our language not others. For example, in U.S even they are African-american, Chinese, Indian, Black or White, they all communicate in their most common language which is English. Even with their same race. That is because they are American. I never heard they speak in african. Same goes to Japanese, Korean, Thailand, Indonesian, they speak in their national language. First time I heard two young ladies (looks like Chinese) speaking Malay between them in the LRT and then I ask them are they Malay? they said no, they're Chinese and Malaysian. I just like wow!! Deep inside I'm so touched and proud 👏👏

      While learning Malay is definitely a duty for Malaysians, what language they choose to converse in should be up to them. the very reason countries like US have little to no language diversity is because while the country claims to be a melting pot of diverse cultures, it's all but a farce as the dominant culture simply assimilates the others. you'd be surprise to still find pockets of people of other races in the US actually converse in their own languages, especially in the case of Latino Americans, despite everyone knowing English.
      & btw, it's inappropriate to include the likes of Japan & Korea in this, as they're homogeneous countries in the first place, so much so that being bilingual is already a definite edge. Malaysia is far more advanced in this regard.

    • @alohasnackbar3544
      @alohasnackbar3544 Před 10 měsíci

      Do not bring japan and korea into this. Because both countries are homogenous country while malaysia is a highly diversify and multi racial. So in that aspect, we are way advance than them. If u didnt know, japanese and korean are fucking racist towards other race.

      不用羨慕。馬來西亞人的英語學習環境也是參差不齊的。雖說需要用英文的部分肯定會比大陸多,但因為大部分時候只要混得亂七八糟的當地土英文就可以了事,所以英文爛得一批的其實到處都是。
      俺是馬來西亞人,華校出身。俺因為自身的語言天分和本來就喜歡英文,就算直到20歲為止身邊的人9成都是說中文的,俺仍然堅持自己製造環境把英文練起來。俺完全沒到過西方國家去,但現在可以跟英美人溝通完全無障礙,甚至看英文書都可能覺得比看中文書來得自在。反觀一堆跟俺同一個環境長大的,大部分卻還是英文沒法子說好的傢伙。
      總而言之,在說語言學習方面,後天努力比先天天分重要,自己製造的環境比現有的環境重要。事在人為而已。
