It’s like what you dreamed of being grown up as a young girl, of another woman you admire and can’t help but put on a pedestal vs the harsh reality of being a grown woman and now being the one held up to unrealistic standards
Something I notice with this is that not once while they’re together in her room do they kiss - such a passionate moment, without a single moment of real passion

i absolutely adore how intentional everything in this music video was. how the cinematography felt very human while they were alone, yet when it was just laufey (especially in the scene at the end with the golden dress), the camera was still and panned out at a very still pace.

The way that even as he is undressed and laid bare in front of her, she is still dressed in the way that he wants to perceive her. In gold, still shining and being held on a pedestal as he worships everything that she is "supposed to be". This video made me sob it's so beautiful.

This is so meaningful to me, because this is litrallz my situation all the time. Men see me as this beautiful thing that only nods to everything, but when they experience that I feel deeply, laugh and cry so hard, when they experience that I need comfort, that I hate being only seen like a body, then I'm too much. It hurts being only seen as beauty or body, when you're human, and have emotions so deeply. I hope everyone will be loved, just like a human.

Genuinely CRYING because of how relatable this music video and your song, is. I’m in my 20s as well, just turned 23. I’m also aware of how it feels, to date an older man.
I heard this on Tiktok or Instagram (can't remember which one) from the lines "You took me for a fool. You stole my youth....Then killed my light." and immediately tears fell. I've been trapped in an abusive marriage for over 15years with my middle school sweetheart, my first love and who I thought was my soulmate, and though mentally I'm ready to go now, financially I can't afford to. So I can relate to those lines in the song deeply.😭

Song of the year, I haven't heard or seen anything better than this. This may as well be song of the ever. Idk man. This song is the most beautifully crafted thing in human history. Deserves at least 200 Grammys just for the first second of the video. I think my sickness was cured after the 12th second so obviously deserves at least 1000 Nobel Prize awards just for that. Beautiful.
