#BHooked #Crochet #CrochetTutorial - Jak na to + styl
My Granny taught me how to crochet and make granny squares when 53 years ago. I've made numerous blankets, bags baby clothes etc. Blackberry stitch is one of my favourite stitches to ring the changes in granny squares-and Charity Shops my regular yarn supplier. One of the tips I offer those I teach, is the importance of getting a comfortable way of holding both hook and yarn- and away to go🌼
So true! That always seems to be when the lightbulb moment happens - when holding the hook and yarn finally click!
@@bhookedcrochetSo true! I’ve taught crochet classes before and it’s always very rewarding to see the person you’re teaching finally get their first stitch. Some people show their excitement more than others-but I will always remember that moment being one of the best!
@@bhookedcrochetOMG yess! Moment my tension wasn't tight anymore, something clicked! I go way faster and my projects look better! 😭
I love the idea of chain 4 not 5 at the beginning of each round, the square looks better and stitches look neat. Thanks! 🌸
This may be one of the best crochet tutorials I’ve seen! I’m an intermediate beginner so the pacing was great but I love how you covered the basics for each round and why - it helps make it stick in my brain more!
I use 4 chains, but i also usually slip stitch into the chain, then chain space because i find it makes the last but one double crochet in the round easier to place. Love how smooth the cloth of each square is done this way.
I cannot begin to thank you enough for this tutorial! I’ve watched several other solid granny square tutorials and I always got lost somewhere or they just weren’t clear enough with their instructions. Your tutorial was short, to the point, and I was able to keep up with you!
Thank you so much for this pattern! I'm so glad I come across your video, your pattern is so clean. I've always had a problem with the joins when starting a new row. Thank you so much!
I did half double crochet and started with 4 chains. HDC feels too tight so i didnt include the first stitch she did after the "corner" basically skipped that and went straight to the very first visible stitch. Came out well as long as the sides have equal stitches! Thank you again!
Thank you so much for another great instructional video. I can always follow your instructions and that means a lot when you are trying to learn new patterns. This video is easy to follow and not a race to the finish. It really allows me to follow and learn something new. Thanks for an amazing video.
Great tutorial! I love the “recipe” approach. It will make crocheting on the go so much easier. Thanks!
I love the way you teach your voice is so calming 😊😊
Thank you thank you! I’ve never been able to make granny squares and it was so frustrating. I followed your instructions and now have my very first perfect granny square! ❤
This video was so helpful!! It’s hard to find tutorials that are so easy to understand but on my first time watching this, I was able to crochet this granny square!!
I always wanted to learn how to crochet the solid square granny stitch thank you 😊 😊😊
I will second what others are saying. Best crochet tutorial ever! I didn’t finish it feeling confused about anything. Thank you!
Had to refresh my memory on this one. So easy. Thinking of making a Scrap blanket. 🙂 Thank you for easy instructions.🙂 I saw a blanket using different sizes of these. I thought was neat.
I love the way you start the solid granny Square . Thanks for a gret tutorial . Love and Hugs .
perfect tutorial! Getting started now 😄
This is a great solid granny square without the obvious row marks - thank you 😊
That tiny square is so cute ❤
i was doing so well and then i realized that i started to make the chain with the cut part of the yarn and i've never felt more like an idiot 😭 but i wont give up i can do this!! 😤
Thank you so much for such a clear to understand tutorial, as a newbie I have full confidence now to make my granny square as big as I want to now, will definitely be watching more of your videos… my aim is to make a granny blanket out of all random squares 😀
Thank you so much!!! Ive been struggling with this square but you made it so clear!! Will be exploring more of your channel!😊
Happy to help!!
This was perfect for me. I’m honestly glad I came across it, since I’ve been struggling for two months now to get the hang of the square but everyone else was proving hard to keep up with. Really grateful for this tutorial ❤
I started two weeks ago and this tutorial was super easy to follow!
Note: I used a magic ring instead of the chains in the beginning and that works too. 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial! ❤
Thank you so much for this. I was trying to follow a pattern and I was coming up with a open space beside the chain two space and I was getting so frustrated because I was doing what they said too! This makes so much more sense!
Thank you for an exceptional tutorial and the bonus of special tips and tricks.
THE BEST INSTRUCTION VIDEO EVER!!! This is the first person that helped me fix my starting corner. It is finally the same size as the othersothers. THANK YOU
Wow, thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words, and I'm so happy it helped it all finally click!! Yay!
Loved this video. This the first time I have watched a tutorial where the math for the pattern has been explained so well! Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤ thank you for this I'm planning on using this stitch pattern for a blanket for a client of mine 😊
Very nice i now have to redo my solid granny thanks for sharing.
I am sorry to ask this but could you have a darker background? I have eye issues and I am colorblind so it is really hard for me to see anything that you are doing :/ I loved the tutorial though! It was very descriptive!
Great teaching…thank you, this is just what I have been searching for…❤
Thank you so much, this turned out so good
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial!
Thank you! This is exactly what I have been looking for!
I like your increase explanation for each row, thank you.
Amazing tutorial! Clear and easy to follow. Thank you
Ty so much u explained some stuff no kne else seems to
thank you for this tutorial, you explained the process beautifully!!
Best tutorial I've seen for the solid granny square. I'd be interested on your thoughts on the blocking board, which do you prefer, the gridded goam mat or the board you used in this video.
A born teacher ❤ what a great video, thank you!
Thank you! I appreciate that so much 🥰
Makes such perfect squares! Thank you!😊
Happy to help!
i have tried so many different granny squares unsuccessfully and this is the ONLY one i could do
that being said i wish you showed what to do with the tails, especially the middle one because i cut it and unraveled the entire thing so that was fun
So easy to follow along. Made my first granny square today!!!
So perfect, i like it
Love it! Going to use this video to make a jumper! ❤
See, when I was trying, this, I’m not sure if I was doing it wrong, or something, but the side where you chain 5, just wasn’t looking good. It was too big, and just looked messy, so instead, after finishing the very first row (so making the corners) I chained 4 instead of 5, did that row, and instead of slip-stitching and chaining 4/5, I just did I the regular corner pattern. It looks much neater now, and it looks more like a square without blocking it at all. Hope that this helps anyone with my problem!❤
So eeasy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you for explaining this so clearly.
I have subscribed to your channel ❤
I love this tutorial 🫶🏻
Thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial🌈🙏. Really easy to understand. The music, the atmosphere and relaxing voice of the teacher makes this tutorial perfect☺️. Wish you all the best to You, Your family and friends ❤
Thank you. Such a well done video. ❤
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed it 💙
Magic rings have always been so hard for me, during the progress I made one ! So now I use this for magic rings this is the only easy way for me 😭
I just love your tutorial.
this vid is so very helpfull tyy
😭❤ Thank you for this tutorial
Tks perfect square🙏
I'm so glad I found you. I wanted a Granny Square site to go to.
Welcome! So happy to have you!
@@bhookedcrochet thank you I want to make a long rob for myself and was thinking about using the granny square. Do you have any ideas for a granny square Rob or any pattern I can use to make a rob, with a long sleeve and collar. Can you let me know. Thank you so much.
Thank you for mentioning your written guide! I loved the video but work much better with written instructions!
Thank you So Much! ❤❤❤❤❤
Helped me a lot thx!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank youuuuu!
Thank you so much!!!!
Thanks a lot for your amazing explanation, what a helpful tutorial!
Thanks a million also for your fantastic website, with its well organised information, which is very supportive and useful for beginners.
Regards! 🌸
Great tutorial! Could I just suggest using a darker background with light yarn? It’s a little hard to see the stitches. I’ve noticed this on a few of your videos, so thought I’d mention :)
Hi! I liked the way explanation was done. I have query. Cam we have different colours for each row and make a comitnuous granny square?
** I really love how you explain your work by visual and in text! BUT I would love if you could do anothing granny square tutorial by showing all the steps by steps. I am a visual learner and can learn crochet lessons from strep 1 to the end. I really enjoy your vidoe edits and how you can fix your mistakes and make it your own with what makes it works for me. I am a self-taught and would like to still try makeing an granny square from your vidoe here. Wish me luck!!
Since I'm a advanced crocheted, this makes sense to me
thank so much🙏🙏
If this tutorial feels like too much for a beginner or too fast - go to Bella Coco’s how to crochet a granny square (it’s a normal, not solid one) finish one of those, then come back. I just did my first granny square with her tutorial, and it allowed for this one to make sense and be doable!
Bella coco also has a video for a solid granny 😊
If the video is going to fast you can slow the speed of the video using your settings.
Thanks.
I'm trying to continue this into a blanket instead of individual squares altogether, I was wondering a what spot would you change colours in the corner? I'm guessing to end the last DC with the new colour (in the last y/o) before that first ch4 forvthe new row, but wanted to check lol. Thank you.
😮tutorial great
About 10 years ago.... I have have made 120 such granny squares... Till today I have no time to join it into a shawl.... 🤭🤭🙄😜
Nice squares btw.......
Thanks! Was looking for a solid granny!
Thanks!
Sure thing! 💙 Thank YOU!!
do you have the link for the blocking board? I couldn’t find it in the description
Am I able to attach a monstera leaf I crocheted on top of the granny square??
Thanks for the guide It is not easy for me to pause video again n again. I am 85 years old and fairly new to crochet and if i have the printed guide it is easier for me
Also your video instructions are great too
Love your tutorials. But I am attempting to make the solid granny square for the navy blue purse. I am using a 4.0 hook with the Lily cotton yarn and when I complete 5 rounds my square is 6 inches square. Your web blog says a square will be 4.5 square. I am crocheting with the smallest hook I believe would work with this yarn and I don’t think I could ever the size to 4.5 square. Are you sure that’s the right measurement on the blog?
Hi, I am looking for your free purse pattern. cant find it. Thanks!
THE BEST GRANNY SQUARE TUTORIAL EVER !!! Huhuhu thank you so much 💗
Do you block the squares before you join them to other squares?
Do you think I could use a slightly larger hook for making this
I used a hook that was a little too big and it worked, but everything was kind of loose and sloppy. It looked much better when I finally got the right size hook.
Love
is that kind of granny square is good for blanket?
I'm so gkad this was so helpful fot so many, but Im still lost can you guys direct me to a tutorial that can that is a little mor detailed in the explanation of where to put to hook in the corner. I keep geeting extra stitches or a lop sided polygon. I don't k ow enough about crochet to know what I'm getting wrong.
I appreciate the tutorial very straightforward but why did you set us up at the chain 5😢
I have a question: I would love to crochet an ‘infinity’ solid granny square as a blanket, do I just keep on going? Will the square not start to pull to the sides like it sometimes do with granny squares? Thanks in advance.🐞
I was going to ask the same question till I saw yours, I hope you get a reply, so many people never answer that make these videos. In the meantime I'm still searching other videos.
What the link for the blocking you purchase on Amazon?
I been making them making them wrong
Need to slow it down some . for beginners
Tutorial WAY TOO fast and confusing 😭 I am so stressed and confused. You don’t show which stitches, you don’t give time to show the same stitch 2-3 times you just assume the viewer understood and did it perfect in time with you, leading me to rewind multiple times over the same section. I have been crocheting amigurumi and c2c for ages and never have trouble following stitches or patterns but this video was so overwhelming :(
Edit: instead of just complaining bc I am frustrated, I realized this seemed very harsh. I can see a lot of people enjoyed this tutorial and found it very easy to follow. So here is the part that confused me the most
1. It’s hard to follow exactly which stitches you are crocheting into. If it were slower or more deliberately explained, I think it would be easier to follow
2. I got confused and ended up with a totally different number of stitches at the end of each round, so in addition to knowing exactly which PART of each stitch to crochet into, it would be the most helpful to know how many stitches should be on each side as you go and where, so that you can check that you are following along in the same way as the pattern as you go. Instead of 3-7-11 stitches on each side, I somehow had 3-6-9 stitches, and I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong.
It was very confusing following this pattern exactly as you said but not knowing why mine was totally not matching up with yours 😭 I think maybe I am crocheting into the wrong part of the stitch or doing the corner wrong? Someone please help ❤
This toturial isn't for beginner you can watch another toturial for beginner ❤
@@MariomasArt I’m not even a beginner, I’ve been crocheting for 3 years. This tutorial was not informative but made me more confused. It is a tutorial, it’s meant to teach. It failed at that.
I agree its very fast (i guess you could solve this by spowing the video down, but then the spoken part becomes hard to follow for me) and her fingers cover a lot of the important parts as well, its sad because the end result looks so nice and i wanna be able to achieve it without having to replay this video a thousand times
Mine turns out in a circle
What if i dont have a blocker?
How do. I get the written instructions
It's giving the 📳
Mine keeps coming out like a circle
I can never myself to crochet over the bottom of the starting chain stitch like that… so I end up with a seam through the side or have to slip stitch into the corner every round.
I can not make it
Mine started becoming a circle not a square. The tutorial is great it's just that I'm a beginner
you lost me in the 'find the centre of your *tiny* circle' part
Why is mine looking like a circle 🙃
