I wear it to the office, to the store, restaurant... I do not care what people think or whether they like it or not, I wear it for me.
This man woke up and chose violence.
@@Gajsu1😂😂😂
A real man
Dude, you are me! Who cares what those insecure snowflakes think👍
Me too, I still use it and it’s cause I ❤ it
Kouros, Lapidus Pour Homme, Drakkar Noir, Jovan Sex Appeal, Farenheit...love it. I wear them for me. Zoomers are too fragile for Kouros, on the average, imo. Stick with bubblegum fragrances (like "Invictus") "younguns."
Spoken like a true ME!! I've liked this fragrance since the 80s when I was first introduced to it, when I was actually a zoomer myself, about 12 years old.
the fact she talking kouros it still relevant
You have to let this smell settle. It grows beautifully. There’s a reason it stayed a legend for so long
True, 2 sprays is enough, otherwise it is bad. Very strong and in my opinon smells the best after couple of hours.
You have a perfume candle right behind you this would mix up the smell as well.
If you think the modern vintage smells sexy, you should try the vintage version with the silver shoulders. You're obviously not ready for this level of perfumery and it definitely shows. But hey, we all have to start somewhere
KOUROS is a Masterpiece ! I really hope you take some time to try to understand it and not just smell it and say "Smells like a sweaty Toilet" ... it has something magical that mabey need some time
You can continue to kid yourself that this is a masterpiece. But please don't go out wearing this
Masterpieces from the 80s are Fahrenheit, Drakkar Noir, Cool water… Not kouros.
People walking past you do not have time to understand it either, they just get a whiff of toilet
Lapidus Pour Homme is sweeter and fruitier than Kouros with the same musky tones and mid however lacks that civet and animalistic part from Kouros. Both smell amazing and you definitely have to appreciate them to enjoy them 😁
stay away from me
In 12 months it may be your best men's perfume.
I live in SE Asia , the women over here love Kouros.
The more underappreciated a scent is, the more I will wear it because it becomes a “signature scent.”
Thanks for the heads up!!!
I have a bottle of Kouros from about 2017 - 2018. It just smells like a white musk. Something like Tabac aftershave. I don’t get all the bad smells. I love it.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like this fragrance and I give it a 9 out of 10 in my opinion and have a blessed night
Back in the day the hair situation down under was common and fairly bushy. This fragrance compliments the heated stank coming from all that grind.
imma need you to hop off the internet for me
You sir, are a social historian of genius.
YASSSS!💯
Holy shieett that was funky
I don't believe I could've put it better.
I just sprayed it on again and I’m loving it. Kind of reminds me of Mousse Illuminee but skanky. Sure. The initial spray is rough. But I think this smells better than Lapidus Pour Homme which is another powerhouse of its time. I might actually wear this tomorrow. Work’s gonna suck. So at least I’ll smell good to myself.
I was wearing Kouros before Erica's parents met each other! I was turned on to it by a boss who was a VP for the record label I worked for at the time. I still have about half left from that 1980's bottle. The Kouros Body flanker from the year 2000 is very nice.
🤝
There is no something like outdated fragrances... Scents are not food to be out of date. If man care if his scent is liked by womens, he is not a real man...
Omg can't wait to watch this. I love 80s fragrances 😁
Today I bought Kouros perfume. It is really strong and masculine and different from similar, refined modern perfumes... I will wear it and I do not care about your superficial opinion.
The best there is, the best there ever was and the best there ever will be. Godly.
Amen
Ameen
The 1980 batch was top class during the years the reformulated it may be 6 times now days its hard to get in departmental stores and to my sense of smell has become lighter its a family signature fragrance❤
I enjoy wearing this. I have a few frags but when I am unsure of what to wear to match the vibe of the dae, I will just go for this one and it works every time. It’s longevity on my skin and clothes is brilliant.
Have never smelled it. Back in the day my signature scent late 80's early 90's was Coty - Preferred Stock which I personally think is a good scent still. Maybe you could do a review of some of the other 80's and 90's scents.
Does it suits me by judging my display? Worried to buy blindly.. or any good perfumes that suits on me? Really appreciate!
Fun livestream. Yeah I had this as a teenager- my first fragrance. It was a Christmas gift. Don’t remember the scent but I remember I hated it and my classmates hated it and steered clear of fragrance pretty much for the next 20 years. I only had two- obsession and Nautica voyage.
I realy enjoy watching your videos 😍❤️ This video was so funny 😂😂👌🏻
Omg your passion is incredible😮😅to be honest i have not idea how smells this fragrance and now i want must try😂😂😂😂
Nice review
I mean I respect that fact that you even took the time to review it. Honestly I’ve never seen any reviewer under 35 like Kouros. I didn’t like it until I was well into my 30s. Personally I now love it. I don’t wear it often as it’s seriously strong and definitely polarising.
I think most people under 30 (basically late millennials and Gen Z) simply can’t comprehend fragrances like this as they have been brought up on scents in the post Acqua Di Gio world from the late 90s onwards. And that’s fair enough.
But to me these vintage fragrances like Kouros, Antaeus, Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Azzaro Pour Homme etc are like vintage fine wine. Your nose and olfactory senses need to develop and take time to appreciate them. It’s like trying to appreciate Penfolds Grange 1983 when all you’ve ever sampled is Echo Falls rose or something like that.
And that’s fine! It’s all subjective ultimately. Just wear what you want. But it is a masterpiece and I will never be convinced otherwise 😂
And actually I think you nailed the review by focusing in on the ‘dirty clean’ aspect. It’s indeed such a conundrum and one which always gets me sniffing my wrist constantly whenever I wear it. Like how is it possible to smell slightly dirty, skanky and musky…and yet so powdery soapy clean at the same time?? That’s where the genius of the perfumer reveals itself.
Definitely subscribing.
Nah...I was 12 in 1984 when I smelled it the first time, and I loved the scent. Everyone loved it. When I first heard the "piss" bs from people I was pissed.
Where did you buy it
What I've noted over my time collecting is that fragrances in the 70's, 80's & early 90's were more about the mid & drydown. Many were more complex (yesterday's niche), and you can't judge within the first 5 minutes since they change on skin, and very from person to person.
Even if I didn't like the smell (I couldn't stand Zino Davidoff for years😟), I couldn't deny the quality for the price, and the drydown is far better than it's opening.
Now days many frags are all about the initial spray & marketing. Cash grab over quality with designer's pumping out edt, edp, then parfums, etc.
I do still like my modern frags, but I think more time & care was put into the older ones. It wasn't primarily all about the Benjamin's back then.
Last time I had a chance to smell it was about 15 years ago. I didnt have a trained nose back then but I remember it was a beast mode frag. I would love to believe they didnt change Kouros over years, but knowing the frag market they did - and for worse. Usually classic men frags have gone through weakening, diluting reformulations to meet standards of XXIst unisex century.
I had this as a favorite in the eighties, as a teen.. and it did NOT disappoint.. Got my fair change of punani.. And I am actually thinking about getting it again. Love it and the memories are nonstop
Can you please do a review on Cartier Santos? Thanks!
Love this cologne
She said something about it is sexy. We can win the war men! We can win!
I was in my late teens/early twenties in the latter years of the 1980s.
I remember this being everywhere and I hated it.
I spoke to a girl a few years older than me back then and she loved it.
I just thought "What's wrong with you?".
I'm 55 now and I've got to appreciate a lot more and I can see the appeal.
My dad is 82 in February and he wears it. That's the problem. It's now associated with old men regardless of anything else just like Old Spice is.
You did it honest justice. 👍
The one thing about all the old school powerhouse colognes is the opening are harsh but after a 30 min or so they up to something really nice and that goes with all the old-school fragrances
Very true. I don’t mind the harshness in the opening, it shows that much thought and finesse was put into the creation of it, and it’s actual nature rather than synthetic crap. By the time you go out and interact the harshness dies down and leaves you with this rich flowery scent that’ll carry you into the next morning.
@@kendalljoshua Absolutely the cologne they make today
Has a great opening but dies down to nothing.
I’m a newer subscriber and I love your channel!! Your sense of humor is so freakin awesome!! I love the honesty of your reviews on this channel! ! Keep up the incredible content!! Wishing you a great 2024!!! 🎄❄️👍🏼😊
Hello Ercia, Great/ cool review as always, keep it up the great work, wishing you a wonderful day and Happy Holidays. Cheers 🙌🏼✨️🎄❤️🤍
This was so good,,, i had it from 3 years utill i realized i had a classic fragrance lying around in my house which no one was using...then i started understanding perfume and i understood how good this was...and i ended up finishing it in two months😅
You know you can buy more, right? 😎
Jaccomo de jaccomo ,kouros ,one man show ,drakkar noir ,ted lapidus i grew up smelling those everywhere
The king of the parfums
5:21 my man pissed himself and thought "at least i can blame it on Kouros now"
I would like to hear your opinion of Fahrenheit. It's the only "powerhouse" fragrance that I actually like. It doesn't smell at all like a urinal, either.
It smells like gasoline and dirt, it’s freaking awesome.
@@Mikael11Fior It smells extremely green and floral to me.
I love the Opening ... but that Drydown is what puts me off ... its the sweaty , leathery stuff that especially in the Summer is too much ... but the Opening ? Oh yes !
Nice review! you are holding a piece of history. Kouros is like a lambourghini countach.
pay no mind , I have received numerous compliments from women in their 20's and 30's 5 - 10 at least to be exact asking me what cologne I am wearing maybe it works well on my skin and at the end of the day wear what YOU like , think about it a rose or apple pie smelled or tasted as good in the 80s to women as they do today why on earth would that change? because a demi says so? Remember sensibilities and fashion come back look at Dior Fahrenheit or Drakkar Noir
spraying kouros before boarding an airplane is insane!! That man is definitely a misanthrope 😂😂😂
Kouros is a timeless Masterpiece! It’s extremely sexual, probably one of the most sexual fragrances ever made, it’s very sophisticated, very bold, and incredibly addictive to the selected noses that it’s made for; the rest will hate it!
it’s complexity and extreme changes between purple sweetness, yes, the grape soda, incredible metallic Freshness, the animalistic piss and floral notes, takes you immediately to a special place, or is rejected immediately.
I did use it from 82 until 89, then in the 2003 till 2007 mostly clubbing was a hit!! reformulated but still same aroma. never got more reactions from women, compliments and dislikes than any other fragrances ever worn.
Recap: use it, wear it like you are a God, a few will say what the hell are you wearing and others will melt right in front of you, most will not say anything but will always remember that guy!! Wearing something so bold, so extreme and so magnificent!
For Men of culture!!! For sure, only Alpha here
Olá, parabéns pela análise, de qual ano é o seu frasco, eu tenho o kouros de abril de 2021 fixa e projeta muito bem.

"I don't hate it" ERICA NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 😭
5:21 My Man 😂😂😂
Personally I love the stuff. I'm 45 so I grew up with my dad and uncles and everyone wearing fragrances like this. It was just the style at the time. The men who wore it were just regular guys. They could be dentists or CPAs or whatever. There was nothing particularly "macho" about it. As for women's reactions, let's just say my own wife (same age as me) refuses to be around me when I wear it. Strictly something for those weekends around the house when she takes the kiddo to see the in-laws. Alas, tastes change. Sic transit gloria mundi. Thanks for accepting the challenge! 😎
kouros type of scents are making a comeback. alot of tomford and other high end brands are now mixing 80's style with something modern but u can still smell the 80's signature smell in the modern stuff. for example dior savage elixir has notes of Drakkar noir in it.
How about black Body Kouros?
i got this 2 weeks ago and so far i got tons of good feed back by girls
There’s an element of Kouros that smells similar to LeLabo Another 13 in the dry down. I get compliments from everyone when I wear Kouros.
This may be close to the 80s og formula ...I know a great one that still smells good and it is Aqua Di Gio but not long lasting ...
I can understand why people don't like Kouros but it was an absolutely revolutionary fragrance and a true masterpiece. I appreciate all types of fragrances but it's nice to see this fragrance is still out there making men smell like men instead of a lemon meringue pie or a pack of starburst.
I'm wearing proudly right now!
Par for the course... if D'Erica doesn't like it, there's a good chance I will. I have a modern bottle of Kouros, and unfortunately, to my non-sensitive nose, I find it kinda meh. That said, I do like it, just not a favorite in my collection. I get nothing resemlbling a pissy note. I'd LOVE to get a vintage bottle. And, btw, what is "modern"? Modern aroma-chemicals that are designed to be mass appealing upon first spray at a mall retailer counter? I have and have sampled many "modern" perfumes, and are aptly described as Luxury Blobs. Kouros was unique, innovative, and creative , and inspired many others.
I LOVE KOUROS, FOR EVER.
I smelled Kouros the first time when I was around 12 years old on a good friend of my mother, and my first impression was: "White". And ther the bottle was white. Thr friend showed it to my mother and was totally blown away from this scent. We all loved it. I still do. I never picked up the "piss" vibe, and I can pick up smells, especially bad ones extremly good. I can smell cigarette smoke around the corner 10 m away.
Kouros is a masters masterpiece.
BALLIN DUDE ENERGY is my BDE.
It's actually on my list (37 yo) to have a bottle. I prefer such powerhouses, like Quorum from Antonio Puig.
Kouros is my favorite fragrance of all time! To be honest if you are used to the sweet watered down fragrances of today you will need time to fully appreciate this one. It’s very clean and dirty at the same time. A funky barbershop type smell with a touch of sweet class and rugged elegance. It’s definitely polarizing which adds to its lore. I think the right women do appreciate this if worn appropriately. It’s a Love love love for me!!!
how do you wear it properly
@@kdscleanmusic just don’t go heavy on the trigger.
@@vaportrails77 tbh after hearing what this lady said i don’t think it’s suitable for me i’m 17 and my dad bought it me as my first fragrance as it’s his favourite but for my current age and school and stuff i don’t think it’s the best, but tbh i didn’t even know this was a controversial fragrance until my cousin told me
Why would you hate it? It's respected as a masterpiece.
Kouros, Chanel Antaeus, Drakkar Noir, and Dior Fahrenheit are the bad boys for me from the 1980s. Women loved them and I loved those women in turn. I still wear all of them today in addition to modern fragrances. I also wear Nishane Unutamam.
The last Kouros with the original potion was released in 2013. After that it went thrue several reformulations Anything you have there is not IT !
Kouros is for living gods. Just like me.
OMG Guys ITS HAPPENING !!!! STAY Calm
Hilarious 🤣 I hated it as well but the body version is way better even in 2024
A classic - but not for the faint hearted
do they still produce this?
Yes
lots of very high end stuff are coming out making similar scents to kouros and the reto vibe is coming back into fashion. so kouros today is less dated than it was in 2000 strangely. younger people cannot associate kouros with their dad in most casses as there dad probably wears acqua di gio, or 1 million. i work with alot of girls in their 20's and i always get comliment from atleast one of them every time i wear kouros and in 40 years old.
It smells AMAZONG 30 min after you put it on
the bottle you'r smelling is a recent one... and it's TOTALLY different from the original one, it's practically a really different perfume...
search for a decant of the original formula or a 10ml mini of the early formula.. you will change idea. cheers from italy
This is a 2011 or 2012 batch!
@@eauderica it's too recent anyway... try to get your nose on a version with "silver shoulders" or, better yet, a charles of the ritz version from the first or second era, the difference is AWESOME, literally a different perfume. unfortunately, among the perfumes of the 80s, Kouros was one, if not the most, heavily reformulated and distorted due to its extremely rich, expensive and complex original formula... it is my signature perfume, I have a nice collection of reserves which I've put it up over the years and I've noticed that unfortunately, in recent years, it's become really difficult to find.
You are very brave, Erica ! I re-tried this on my skin a few months ago and i almost hate it. i respect it as vintage but i would never wear it. If I want something very very musculine and unique i would go for Amouage Myths man. Nobody talks about it
I got bought some frome duty free.
IMHO it smells like a sweaty locker room.
Im stuck , don't know if I will date try it again.
Ive used 3-4 sprays.
Maybe I try and sell it , seriously even £20 would make me happy.
A lot of 80s fragrances are great like obsession 👍 but the pleasure of CK isnt repeated in the sweat stink of Kouros.
Well IMHO.
✌️✌️
🤣 is a great men's perfume you can tell by the fact she keeps going back to smell it...ignore the words turn the sound off and watch her face that's gonna say it all.
You might need to see a doctor if your piss smells like Kouros. Pissy seems to be the lazy buzz word all fragrance reviewers use to describe Kouros. I personally do not even get the slightest hint of piss when I smell it.
Not piss, but it has that scent in it that is a bit wild. Reviewers carry on and exaggerate all this. It isn’t that bad.
Kouros Is the king👍😘
You can’t make a fair comparison if you don’t have the original formulation just to be fair todays version sucks
Current formulation is great to my nose.
@@proodscot get a bottle of the original formulation you will notice a huge difference
Kouros Fraicher is the one
i feel like you're just trying to be edgy in order to trigger some boomers. there's nothing pissy about kouros, it starts pretty fresh and sharp and then dries down into a smooth but fresh masculine scent.
Erica to be fair you really need to try the other 80s powerhouse - Antaeus by Chanel. It's equally as masculine but more smoothed out and sophisticated than Kouros. Those in the know still appreciate the sexy, powerful statement that it makes!
100% agree. I'm a big vintage fan but Kouros is a bit of a tough sell on skin for me. However, I have a 1993 bottle of Antaeus and it is a top scent
The best Cologne known to man.
😂 Another pissy fragrance is Creed's Royal Water. Absolutely putrid smelling. Had to sell it off right away. The smell reminded me of a subway station back in NYC. The note breakdown seems like a normal freshie. NOPE! Idk if the notes are not balanced out right or if the Juniper Berry note is rotten. Piss with citrus notes like Kouros
:))) Kouros is for real men, not what you see on the street today. It is a never ending story !
LO MEJOR DE LO MEJOR....ALFA
I can’t do it 😂
I weared it 25 years ago, very proud of it. Today...... as you said respect but difficult to be actual.... 😮. A vintage vintage polarizing fragrance, but in the late 80....a masterpiece
Never been a fan of Kouros. I use it as non lethal home defense. 🤣
“On the skin it’s a bit warmer” 🤦♂️
It would be a go to for a perfume party dedicated to overspraying. There is a fecal note you can notice if you spray down hard in one spot and then take a big sniff.
What on earth are you yapping about
?
For anyone who just wants to sample the 80s greatness on the cheap, give The Man Silver a try from Milton Lloyd. If you can't stomach it, give it a wear and see what happens. 😬 Rarely is perception the same at a distance. I honestly thought I was going to lose my dignity the first time I wore it, (and Boss #1 for that matter), but was surprised that I never once got the same reaction from others that I initially had to it. Kinda like listening to my voice on a recording. But wear anything with confidence and as long as it's not super loud or a scent that's associated with body odour, people rarely blink an eye. Unless....they're...blinking at you? 😂😉 Shed the fear. Give challenging stuff a chance. 🧡So glad you gave it a go Erica! 💙🤍
It was unlike anything else when it came out in 1981. You need to get the vintage 80’s version. Wear and appreciate this for yourself. Not a compliment getter.
There is one thing that is for certain Erica. you need a man a proper man an 89's man.
Try Pino Silvestre original
😈
herhe a nature powehouse that almost makes u passout forrest kinda vibe from the 50s, gotta get a vintage bottle tho to get that special fell like with kouros, she did got the 6 or 7th reformulated crap they sell you now, as the 1th bage of couros is arround 300$ on ebay and like 30 years old soo yeah, the new couros is not the same anymore but good for Erica cuz the piss smell (my goodness that hurts to say that) was much stronger and it was more peppery and projection lasted like a couple feet when somebud came into a room, he lefted a smell for a while there ;)
Well, your assessment and assumption of the compliment factor is EXTREMELY inaccurate. Possibly one of my most complimented fragrances in my collections of 300+ bottles. And these compliments are all from women 25-35. You're cute, but somewhat dull in your approaches 😉
Kouros is my favorite top 5 of all time, and I am 38 y old. Only a real men can wear this, not for the sissies
Kouros is popular with athletes as a urine sample in order to pass drug tests.
Still a risk of failing the test though. 🤓
Then ya woke up
