Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Reviews Delhi Airport Operations After Roof Collapse

  • Following the deadly roof collapse at Terminal 1 (T1) of the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi, Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu visited the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC) to assess the current situation and passenger handling after all departing flights were shifted to Terminals 2 (T2) and 3 (T3).
    Naidu held a meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), and airline representatives. Discussions focused on ensuring smooth operations and passenger experience during this transition period.

    Perhaps for such vital installation, Expert teams should have been formulated to conduct Safety Structural Inspections along with the regular team Operations and Maitenances. Atleast every 6months or Quarterly Reports should have been published.

      These structures are supposed to be maintenance free, and any maintenance schedule must be provided by the engineers and construction company before handing over. I wonder what they have in their schedules and sop.

      Why would a minister resign if it is accident. Legally if the minister has committed some kind of crime than he would resign and get arrested

      @@williamwongkimping3998 it's the way these people think with respect to natural disasters and unforeseen circumstances. Why should the government resign for something done before it's time or for something that is sabotaged.
