This is a step by step tutorial on checking and locating your transmission fluid reservoir. The 2008 Toyota Camry 3.5 Liter V6 engine does not have a dip stick to check the transmission fluid. In this video I show you were the reservoir is located and how to fill your vehicle with transmission fluid as well as checking the level. Running your vehicle without transmission fluid will damage your transmission causing you thousands of dollars in repairs. Take these simple steps to avoid costly repairs!
Don’t need to take the tire off, jack it up a little to stretch the strut with your wheel all the way turned
Hey thanks for watching! I like as much space possible to work. I don’t like having to do acrobats around things to get to other things but thanks for the suggestion hope you subscribe!
Fookn Toyota just got Maintenance Required light scanned it and it's the transmission fluid 😏 how inconvenient to place it there
Hey thanks for watching. Yea it’s such a headache that they did that but we all know it’s to get more money out of us. Horrible!
thanks
Hey thanks for watching and taking the time to comment I really appreciate it. Happy to see my video helped. Hope you subscribe!
My Toyota Camry XLE 2009 V6 gear oil was short , I had to top it through the plug around the tyre … right now the gear oil is escaping on my engine bay … please help with a solution , should I drain some of the oil ???
Hey thanks for watching. First you have to find where it is leaking from. Then you can figure out your next move but you may need to replace your valve cover gasket.
My car would jerk when I drive it and next thing you know it stopped running it turns on but it stopped running is it because I have no transmission fluids? Or what can it be? I just know that it has something to do with the transmission
Hey thanks for watching. Not having transmission fluid is a sure way to blow a transmission so it can definitely be that but without having the vehicle in front of me to troubleshoot it’s hard to say. I’d take it to your local mechanic shop to figure it out and if it’s something simple you can always do it yourself.
Mark .. you need to read this book. Conquistador.. by Buddy Levy. If you like details and strategy of war and your interested in real conversations between the invaders Spain and the Aztec Empire. Some of the stories are so unbelievable. But they are found in Cortes letters to the king.... AMAZING !

Hey thanks for watching. The 4 cylinder 2007 Honda accord holds 4.2 quarts of oil and 2.5 quarts of transmission fluid. Hope you subscribe!
Hello brother good video I have a camry 2010 SE V6 sedan and I have never changed the transmission fluid and it has 196 thousand miles
I would like to know how much I can put on it and what kind of oil I can put on it
@@amaurydiaz hey thanks for watching. Checking and changing the transmission fluid is a little tricky. It will be better to take it in to be done. Here is a video showing you what it entails:

You do not show how to check the level in a video.
Hey thanks for watching. The main point of the video is to show you where it is located. To check the level there are very detailed videos on CZcams that require professional tools. Me personally I just use a pipe cleaner straw. I am not recommending you do this.
Can you send me that video please

Did it help? I have a hesitation between 2nd and 3rd. No slip, but hard shift. 150k.
Hey thanks for watching. Adding the friction modifier definitely helped our vehicle.
So how do you know if you put too much or not enough
@@user-ko6ko9pb7n Hey thanks for watching. The point of the video was to show you the location. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to know if you put too much unless it starts coming out of the fill hole. To check the level there are very detailed videos on CZcams that require professional tools. Me personally I just use those fuzzy pipe cleaner straws to check the level. I leave it a bit under the fill hole. I am not recommending you do this.

Do you fill it until a little comes out?
Hey thanks for watching. I fill it until it’s about under the fill whole. I usually stick my finger in there to gauge it.
@@ucanfixit1how do I know can you show a video of the gauge with your finger??
@@emmanueloyekanmi7790 this is something I definitely will do in the future. At this moment I do not have access to the vehicle. I’m sorry.
@@ucanfixit1where is the fill hole?
@@shnielmanhousr4165 if you watch the video the only way to get to it is on the drivers side behind the tire.
Is it the same for a 2011 Toyota Avalon?
Hey thanks for watching. To be honest I haven’t had a chance to work on the Avalon so I’m not entirely quite sure.
It's OK.. thanks for posting videos man.. your helping ppl out.. keep doing you brother
@@user-uu4zj2ve9g thank you it means a lot I definitely will!
yes
That's a fill plug not a level plug. To get the right level you have to warm up the fluid and drain it from the needle drain on the bottom while its running.
Going to be a lot of ruined transmissions out there.
Hey thanks for watching. Been doing this method to my vehicles with a full plug like this one for a long time going on 10 years doing it still running perfect. This one is still running perfect as well. Thanks for your opinion.
Is the needle drain on the transmission pan?
Yep this trans is at the right level via the plastic tube on the drain hole. At 45c Then add 200ml after a trickle came out and done up while running as per toyota instructions
How do i know if i put enough fluid in? I have the same car with no dip stick smh

@@ucanfixit1 Thanks for the info!!
Hola Gringos !
If fkn Toyota doesn't fix this problem they will end up like Nissan
Hey thanks for watching. Yes I agree and the strange thing about the whole situation is this is the only model and year I know of that they did this on.
@@ucanfixit1 there's actually quite a few! The Camry models from 2008 to 2018 , Highlander and several others.
@@sam3d oh wow that’s awful. Toyota makes great cars but this right here is going to lose them a lot of customers.
@@ucanfixit1 I'm telling you! Nissan used to be a respected and credible brand! But everything changed when they started using these third party variable transmissions in the late 2000s, now even Kia is a a more reliable brand than Nissan.
Toyota will need to learn from these blunders or pay the consequences.
@@sam3d I totally agree. I’ll definitely consider a Kia before a Nissan. Hopefully Toyota changes their tune otherwise they will be following Nissans route.
How do you know when it's at the right level you didn't show that most important part.

Was this on passenger or driver ?
Driver.
What type of fluid did u put does it have to be oem?
Hey thanks for watching I was only putting a friction modifier because my transmission was hesitating a bit but if I were to put transmission fluid I would recommend OEM just to be safe. Hope this helps and don’t forget to subscribe!
What type of friction modifier? The trannys seem very hesitant and laggy in these cars
@@JayRacingProductions it was by a company called motor craft I got it from the auto parts store.
I would recommend ams oil trans fluid, it’s expensive but def worth it, it’s some really good fluid. This car should take the newer fluid type
Toyota Genuine ATF WS
How much fluid does it take
Hey thanks for watching! Depending on what size engine and model you have it can take anywhere from 3 to 6 quarts. Hope this helps and don’t forget to subscribe!
Need a new tire bad my boy
I’ll be aight.
@@ucanfixit1 Walmart got sum for 80
Why wasn't there fluid coming out after you added more?
Hey thanks for watching! I was only instructed to put the friction modifier because the transmission would jerk. The guy I did this for did not want to add automatic transmission fluid only friction modifier. I do believe he added some after though. Hope you subscribe!
Don’t need a deep socket either lol
Yea but it’s what I had at the time. Still worked perfectly for me friend.
b******* there's got to be away from the top of the transmission a bolt or something
Hey thanks for watching. Unfortunately with this model there isn’t trust me I’ve tried, I even wanted to drill my own hole 😂 the way Toyota designed this one was not smart for us DIY’ers. Sorry man, hope you’ll still sub to the channel.
Thats 💯% the wrong way to do that. Lol
@@monkeyrotary6979 hey thanks for watching. The point of the video is to show people where the location of the transmission fluid hole is. I hope this cleared things up for you.
