The animation in this film was extraordinary. It looked 3-dimensional - especially early in the film.
The ambulance, the tree falling on the house, Carl & Ellie dancing.....fantastic!
My family and I grew up with Pixar, but this film in particular is one of my mom’s favorites. She likes to rewatch this particular film every once in a while, and she always gets emotional watching the opening scene.
Paradise Falls is based on the real-life Angel Falls in Venezuela, which continues to be the tallest uninterrupted waterfall in the world.
Ed Asner, the voice behind Carl Fredricksen, has sadly passed away in 2021. Before he passed, he was able to lend his voice as Carl one last time in the sequel series titled Dug Days.
Everyone, my friend, gets emotional watching the opening scene.
A "snipe hunt" is a famous practical joke in English played by Carl on Russell because there are no "snipe" birds so it is a hopeless "wild goose chase" and is a major part of the plot of "Up" and how Russell finds Kevin.

The first 10 minutes of this movie takes you on a wild rollercoaster of emotions. Happiness, love, joy, then extreme sadness & heartbreak. You know it’s a great movie when it can do that in the first 10-15 minutes of it. 😊
I never thought about this but the first time we see Ellie she's "flying" the house.
I think she's actually pretending it's a ship.

My grandchildren love this movie. They could watch this movie day in and day out! A good movie can change your day for the better. My daughter pretends to be tough but she tears up every time she watches it! This is a great video! Thank you for sharing this with us!
UP is a good animation movie though the beginning is kinda bittersweet and a bit of a heartbreak and heartache; just a fore warning that’s all

Up is the second best movie of Pixar. The best is "inside out".
When I saw this movie as a kid, I thought there was going to be a sequel called “Up, Up and Away” 😂😂😂
Snipehunter: Russel Rising!
Loved your reaction it hits different now after loosing my wife of 7 years 2 years ago. Just an amazing character arch from him not caring anymore but making his wife's dream to come true to caring about the kid and the dog. Some real heart here.

The Fenton's ice cream shoppe at the end of the movie is a real place near the Pixar campus in Emeryville Ca. I grew up eating ice cream at this place. One of the many beautiful things about Pixar movies is that they sneak in references to their San Francisco Bay Area location in each one of their movies and as a proud native of the area its cool to see references you grew up around. "Up": Carl and Ellie live a complete life in the first 10 minutes of the movie, and could be an "Are you a Robot?" test. Even strong men and women are reduced to tears before they go on the adventure with Carl and Russell. Then the magic begins, as the house becomes "lighter than air."
My daughter and her husband had an Up-themed wedding. They found the mismatched chairs like the ones here, made a mailbox like this one for wedding cards. They're currently building a house, but it's not like the one here. However, I expect they'll have plenty of adventures together. We spent time in Venezuela, but never made it to Angel Falls, the one that inspired the falls in Up. My daughter and son-in-law have been with us to Mexico and The US Virgin Islands and they have a mountain cabin for their own adventures. If they get to have the kinds of adventures my wife and I have had, they won't have to attach balloons to the house they're building and seek the adventures they never got to do.
Great movie. it is such a great and different animation movie. It deals with real life you almost forget it is an animation movie. It is both funny and Sad. I was never interested seeing animation movies until I saw this movie. You should also watch Big Hero 6 which is also a great movie like this.
My favorite animated movie would have to be "Megamind". A very funny film with a surprisingly good plot.
Prince of Egypt is my favorite animated movie. I highly recommend it.

My nephew and I saw this animated movie once. Me seeing it now in this time though, it hits me hard enough 😔 We have a life, lose parts of it that matter, but we find ways to keep going.
One last thing I forgot to mention. I love your reaction to this movie. It's really great to see you experience all the human emotions in one movie. And also, you're very beautiful. I love your smile and your beautiful eyes.
You should react to more Pixar movies such as the unforgettable Toy Story franchise, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory.

I was going to say the same thing. Amazing hand-drawn animation, some cool stories, and one of the best soundtracks in film history. Favorite sequences: Harry Canyon, Den, and of course the epic Taarna.

A friendly tip, English is strange but in a lot of nouns you need to use "the" or "a" or "an" in fromt of them like in your title, "It's more than a cartoon". I don't know why English is different, but at least there are no genders, just neutral, unlike French
