      He is an absolute arrogant narcissistic PRICK for not re-uniting with the rest of the band when he was given the opportunity by VH1 back in the early 2000s. Now he is a white-haired old man near the end of his life and all slowed down with no spark, wasted the opportunity for future generations due to his arrogant narcissism. RIP Holly.

      I can believe anything about Paul Rutherford, Mark O'Toole and the rest of the band. They treated Holly disgustingly. It was described in an article that one night in a restaurant the band threw food at Holly, slagged hím off and to top it all off O'Toole kicked Holly in the balls with a steel toe boot. Paul, Nasher jokes about the story on Instagram saying that Holly looking for his lost balls.

I know your post is some kind of hint that Holly isn't one of those who can move to another planet! So Holly's ascension is cancelled? So who goes the rest of the band except Holly or just the old lovers Paul and Mark? Tell me how they're going to fake their deaths, plane or boat accident will happen in the near future? When Will happen end of the year or next spring?

    Frankie Goes To Hollywood were massive. What a great sound that stills fires me up today. Trevor Horn of Zang Tumb Tumb records tried to take credit for their songs, but FGTH created them and ZTT merely produced. Holly has always been such a sweetheart and he sounds as good as ever. The 80s was probably the biggest explosion in the UK music industry and bands like FGTH have influenced music globally ever since. You'll be hard pressed to go a year without hearing the music of an 80s UK hit band or artist in a major movie or tv show. Really great to hear Frankie reminisce about life as a fan and remind us that Liverpool produced so much more than just the Beatles, which would have been enough.

      Golden Years clearly was NOT "the lead single from Young Americans" as Holly states, to Ken Bruce's apparent approval. It's quite shocking that professed Bowie fans could make that kind of mistake, but I remember Bowie once telling Jonathan Ross that Sense of Doubt was a track off Low and having to be corrected, so clearly even Bowie wasn't "a professed Bowie fan" in that sense.

    Don't approve of grammar schools although they undoubtedly provide an excellent education ( they are divisive) but I am not surprised to hear that Holly went to a grammar- he is obviously intelligent and articulate. Shame many from poorer backgrounds failed the 11 plus because they lacked what would be described as the cultural capital today to be able to pass the tests which were skewed towards middle class students. Class determines everything in Britain more than anywhere else in the world. Love FGTH- still the biggest pop sensation of the eighties in a crowded field.

    • @sarkanysusu2050
      @sarkanysusu2050 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@katethomas5712 I think it's very striking that the members of the band have always preferred Paul. I'm of the opinion that as soon as FGTH became a vaulable name they wanted to get rid of Holly. Mark, Nasher, Paul were always Holly's enemies and I guess Paul was the worst he often looked at Holly from the background with despise, as he could've drown him in a spoonful of water. He still doesn't like if Holly's name mentioned. Reportedly they're attacked Holly several times, they named Mark as the attacker but I guess Paul attacked him too. How he could've stayed if they're threated him and he had to afraid from them? Belive me they're forced him to quit on his "own". Some members in the FGTH group talk as if Holly had never been member of the band. I think the two leather pets are and Paul. They're the ones Holly supposedly didn't wanted in the band. I don't think they contributed anything to FGTH at all but i think they were all part of a group of friends and wanted to travel with together. There seems to have been some sort of grievance that came out of it and they didn't have any relationship with Holly off stage from the beginning. Ped was the intermediary between them I think. In my opinion they parted ways completely in late 85 or early 86 before the Liverpool album came out. He was already introduced as Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes to Hollywood on Countdown in 86. They were travelling completely separately from each other as if they'd never had anything to do with each other. A Countdown video has completely disappeared as well as an interview about when Holly edited his autobiography, surely these were something in them that revealed the truth. They couldn't bear to have Holly not be the whipping boy. At this Eurovision 'reunion' they didn't spend one minute more together than was necessary. The after party was even weirder it seems. They taking pics with the same fans in the same place but Holly and the band members were completely separate. It was as if she had only been there long enough to took those few photos. I think the bottom of it all was that the place where they practiced was made into a gents room and Nasher taken a picture with Holly there. I think the whole reunion about to humiliate Holly once again, I think it made it clear how they felt about him. No matter what happened between them that was ugly. Of course i could be wrong but honestly what I saw in the footages and the band's attitude and the amount of hate Holly still get is creepy, I think it all comes from the same few people from the band.
