Why isn't the F-15 or F-16 on here instead of the F-117? Their reputations as actual fighters are way better, and they didn't have to include the "F" prefix just to keep pilots from being embarrassed for flying them.

I saw a Harrier at the El Toro airbase in 1990. I agree with Tom Clancy: it was by far the noisiest jet at the air show. It was painfully loud.
I've said the same since seeing one at Patrick AFB, FL in 90, outrageously loud!! I still marvel at watching a C-131 on landing, looks like it will fall out of the sky.
The loudest I've heard was an F-14 doing a low level minimum radius circle in afterburner. But it was only somewhat louder than a Harrier doing a routine take off.

The F-117 got its destination from the Red Hat's. The Red Hat's are the 4 large hangers at the North end of the base. They're called the Red Hat's because this is where americans reversed engineer alien technology, meaning Russian technology.
One of my favorites is the mosquito it had guns and a 57mm cannon punching holes in submarines and ships igniteing torpedp rooms and ship bunkers.

The whole show starts off wrong. F-117 is not a fighter. It is a bomber or close air support stealth aircraft. Fighters by definition fight other aircraft. Not only does the F-117 not fight other aircraft it lacks any defensive armaments other than its stealth and electronic warfare capabilities.
Yeah it's a fighter that's why it has the F for fighter in F-117, if it was considered a bomber it would be B-117
The F-18 is a great close air support jet, I loved hearing it coming because I knew the enemy were dead quickly and we could go on about our mission.

On 27 March 1999, during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia, a Yugoslav Army unit shot down an F-117 by firing a S-125 Neva/Pechora surface-to-air missile from 1961 . ROFLOL yeah so good to invade 3rd world country that fight back with sticks and stones
You do know that the biggest reasons it was shot down was because it flew the same route everyday so they knew it was coming and one of it's weapons bay doors got stuck open which ruined it's stealth. Those two things as well as some incredible luck for the Yugoslavia army is why it got shot down. Getting shot down only once in all the sorties the F-117 has flown is an incredible record. The F-117 was a great fighter/bomber and worked as advertised. Flew through Bagdah over and over again without getting a scratch during a time when it was probably the most well defended city in the world is astounding.

I miss Tom Clancy, he was from my home state of Maryland, and his books were incredible, the movies? Only 2 of them were really good, Hunt for Red October and Patriot Games. This must be a old top 10 because Tom Clancy passed away some years now.

He only talked about Vietnam later in life and now his dementia (agent orange induced) won't let him tell me stories anymore. He enjoys watching these videos so I cast them on the TV for him. I think I remember him saying they could fly home or limp home with half a wing blown off. I know they saved the lives of him and his fellow troops more than once. He wasn't happy when they started decommissioning them and replacing them with the F-16s. My info could be wrong because when I look it up now it says they are being replaced by the F-35 but maybe it changed from the F-16 to the F-35s because they are replacing the F-16s with the F-35. The F-16 or F-35 might be adequate or better planes but I understand why he feels the way he does. He could definitely also be right. I didn't ever disagree with him because I wasn't necessary and I don't have the knowledge. Even if I had the knowledge I wouldn't disagree with him because again it would be unnecessary. Anyway, I don't know why but I just wanted to comment for him. I don't know if anything that I am talking about was even mentioned in the video. The video just brought to mind what he had told me before about the A-10 warthogs.

The F-15 has been in service almost 5 decades, has seen combat in every theater and has adapted to every role including the same precision bombing that the F-117 is (only) capable of. Did the Brits make a donation to get the slow, excessively loud Harrier on the list? Yes, it hovers...for no more than 30 seconds before the engines eat themselves and it falls faster than it can fly. I can list 5 planes that should be here and back them up with statistics, not propaganda. For instance, the F6F Hellcat had a K/D of 18:1 and outclassed the A6M in every respect. The Yak 9 was also a better plane as was the Lavochkin LA-7. Very disappointing.

You let your patriotism make the better of you. The Spit could easily outclimb, outaccelerate, and outmaneuver the Mustang. The Mustang was a great fighter, but it was great because it had the range the Spitfire lacked, Face to face I know which one I, and almost any other pilot, would rather be in.
Tell you have been to a live air show and witness a one of the planes slam in to the ground and explode you won't be thinking about the jet but the horrible pilot behind the controls that ejected🤔
