It would be cool if you drew the inside of a car and put the cassette thing inside the dvd pocket, or put a literal dvd in the dvd thing, like yk cut a slot for it? Idk how to describe it.
FINALLY HE CAME BACK!! Also something that helped me w branching out was fandoms. Bascially, when I was younger I would be super into just one thing and constantly want to draw only that ONE thing over and over, which is fine. Draw what makes you happy. But now, I find that watching a bunch of different shows or medias helps a lot. It helps with learning anatomy and recognizing shapes, it helps with different tones and palettes. It helps with ideas and backgrounds and even I'd say helps with motivation at times. I've learned so much drawing all the different iterations of the TMNT when I first got into it, and that knowledge helped me when I branched out into drawing Spiderman characters and poses. And now learning to draw MLP characters, I picked up on the anatomy stuff SO quickly it was amazing (Edit: Also like he said, tape/glue/sew EVERYTHING in your sketchbook. Practice drawing on so many things. My grandpa sketches landscapes on paper cups when he goes to fight fires during the summer. Heck, the most fun I have in my sketchbook is just gluing random shit into it and messing around with trash and markers and glue. Like a kid during arts and crafts, I love making a mess in my sketchbook. Rlly helps on the days where you want to create so bad, but just cant. Same with using new supplies, and I don't mean buying new markers or pens, just look around for any ballpoint pen or dollar store mechanical pencil on the ground around your school. Trust, those drawings always just look better for no reason)

I’ve been using a folio diary as a sketchbook for the past few months, because it was SUPPOSED to be for 2023 (it is now in fact the year of our Lord 2024 which means that the diary can’t rlly be used for its intended purpose anymore) and I’ve just about broke the spine (I’m only through August 😭). It didn’t come with an envelope in the front, so I’ve been using a ratty envelope that an invitation to a friend’s birthday party came in to store my little Sketchbook Trinkets and Junks. Honestly, if you have a spare diary or notebook or anything like that, it’s fun to use it as a sketchbook, because you don’t feel pressured to do Good Arts in it! Nobody’s gonna be making Masterpieces on a piece of paper that already has a line of SOMEBODY ELSE’S ILLUSTRATION at the top and black lines all over and dates from last year! So I can just draw My Little Guys with reckless abandon of how it’ll turn out! The only drawback is that the paper isn’t Suited for watercolor/heavy duty painting/heavy duty pastels etc, so I have to get creative when I use mixed media. Anyways this is my sleep deprived ramblings
Updates because I’m rewatching this video like it’s a religious text: the Folio Sketchbook has been done for a month or two, its spine was indeed broken, had to keep it going with duct tape. In my current sketchbook the paper is still thin 😭 if u get a Moleskine sketchbook LOOK AT THE PAPER TYPE AND NOT JUST THE FLUORESCENT NEON GREEN COVER I GOT JUST TO ANNOY PEOPLE. But yeah here’s a list of silly stuff in there for funsies 1. I put “RABIES!!!” As the reward for finding my sketchbook 2. Sketchy little doodle my 3 year old cousin did. I think its supposed to be Bluey 3. Planning for Geometry/Bible projects that has since been doodled over 4. Cicada wing immortalized in Scotch Tape 5. Drawings of Hamlet and Odysseus 6. A portion of a waxy paper plate i was using as an acrylic paint palette 7. The URL for a neocities website im trying my hand at 8. Paint chips from years ago, when my Youth Group was repainting the YG room 9. Lipstick smears from a lipstick i found washed up on the shore of my local lake (not sanitary) 10. Broken glass bits and a piece of painted porcelain i dug out of the ground (also not sanitary) 11. Embroidery I did in study hall of an 8 ball with the line “hypocrisy is the best hobby” with pieces of a shoe (i think, found it on the ground) sewed in underneath it Anyways yeah. The motto for every sketchbook ever should be Go Crazy Go Stupid

Hello ✋🙂 Me name is Raven, you can call me Razzor. I have a small suggestion. Just a tiny little one. I’m even gonna say a step by step guide. 1. Get a balloon. 2. Draw on the balloon. 3 somehow gently pop the balloon were you get less remains, (I waited for it to deflate a little where it got weak over time and then I strike.) 4. Cut out drawing and then tape that in your sketch book. I have done that three times. It sorta works…. The cutting takes forever.
You know I might actually do that, my roomate inflated a bunch of balloons and threw them all throughout our house for my birthday and Ive been wanting to draw on them
Honestly my only advice is to literally just keep practicing and youll get better at likenesses lol. I didnt really deploy any strategy I just sorta got better the more I did it (i still have a long way to go!)
