President Tinubu's economic reforms have been applauded locally, nationally, and even globally. But the situation is like a deep sore, it will take time to heal. There is no magic fix to a bad wound. It needs time to heal properly. Better days are ahead, even though things are rough now.

Removing the fuel subsidy has led to economic hardship, but it is the right step to take for a better future. Uniting official and black market exchange rates has brought some instability and devaluation to the naira but it is the right economic step to take. Better days are ahead

The basis of any industrialisation is technology. our young have to be educated in the areas of engineering and IT. Nigeria must build its own infrastructure (Trains , roads , bridges , schools hospitals etc) . Our Factories has to be built at home

This is quite enlightening to hear from the Honourable Minister.
Knowing Dr. Tijani as one of the main pillars of the Tech opportunity democratization initiative that built most of the current crop of elite Nigerian software engineers back in 2012/13 with CCHub, IDEA, Tinapa Knowledge city programs/Hackathons etc, One can be hopeful that Nigeria could witness another era of the technology industry in few years under his leadership if he continues at this pace.

stay and build your country , in 60 years Nigeria will be still poor and people will always be fleeing it happen in the Caribbean half the country is in Europe and north America and the country is still poor after 50 years of immigration, have millions of engineer architect scientist and workers and do cheap labor America did it, Taiwan, Japan, China, the reason Europe didn’t do it is the American market and investment, stop being so proud are you too good for China, USA, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, start bringing low cost manufacturing in your country for those extra people and stay and build your own country, Japa is another man’s country not yours no matter the justification

@@modesolaa i think you understand you just playing ignorance, you still will be poor in 50 years, do cheap labor like china, singapore, usa, hong kong, and move up the value chain, kenya just announce the same thing they are going to send their people abroad for work, the caribbean did that and it was a permanent brain drain, now every industry is run by a foreigner, to develope, you have to maximize your talents by holding on to them permanently, so train them in assembling for off shoring like china and vietnam is currently doing, invest heavily in education and industry, if you send away your people who is going to build your country, you need engineers, stem education and alot of investment, your oil industry helped but didnt build your country

This is when i think to myself, what is it with our people? We should stop seeing ourselves as a resource to be sold to the lowest bidder. We need to create sectors that are exporters of technology not exporters of humans!. The fact this is being banded around like some great achievement tells me these so called experts are just regurgitating what they've read or heard or been told somewhere sometime in the past. We need to be creative technolical leaders and not the next IT sweatshop facilitator!

There are millions of engineers in this fields, already earning living. Most acquired the knowledge by self and some with money and dedicated time. Don’t create anything sir, fix the wages, electricity and internet cost first and also seek solution from the vast number of veterans we have. Can’t you see there’re lot of Nigerian engineers home and abroad? Which new 3m people una wan train again… prolly people from the local government workers sha, even the northerners have good engineers. Fix wages, internet and electricity, people will head back home and do the needful provided they’ll be given the privilege

God bless the hardware question, I’ve always said focusing on software fluff is not practical when all the hardware utilize software after construction. Half this coding stuff is copy and paste once you learn the language. Hardware is what dictates software. We need to control our mineral resources.

Please, is this man the Minister of Education? Secondly, I thought everybody has phone, and buys data to communicate and access Internet connections in the remote areas?
I think he is not responding to questions practically and objectively. I can see that the project is not specific, hence no definite scope.
Also, he has kept talking about gaining support upon support, so what does he have in his ministry's budget, hence a lot of international funding?
I can observe a lot of rhetorics as there is no clear measure of their input and tangible results.

Clean your eye saw smelly gutters.
Your inflated dream is at best, illusory.
(When I was studying engineering in the US, most of my physics professors were Indians. We are not represented in that field. Nigeria is no where close to India.)

Nigeria CANNOT do it. Hardware is expensive and local players need to get involved. Network and Broadband Hardware is missing because certain Cos are "milking" Africa and all its US Dollar Reserves. Software are expensive too. Income Levels in Nigeria or Africa CANNOT afford the original copy of MIcrosoft latest product prices. Nigeria should remove ALL Customs and Duties (VAT) for IT. Broadband should be taken over by the Government as a essential services. Internet Speed is too slow to be effective. Teach IT is Schools early in the Curriculum to begin the eco system.

If they can clean up the dirty streets of Lagos, then I will believe this digitisation, or technology can be used successfully in Nigeria. Do the simple things first. Not even seen road shows that carry illiterates along. Illiterates are not on Channels Television. If this regime could go to when people were put in Technical schools for skill enhancement i.e. Plumbing, carpenter, electrician, drivers etc. you will see how Nigeria would thrive. You talking about digitisation or technology but not carrying illiterates at the lowest level. Its a case of building a road with bridges all beautified but within two months there are filth and dirt around the road, that is Nigeria. You are not doing road shows, radios, bill boards to carry the man on the streets along. The level of illiteracy in Nigeria due to several reasons is high. Give incentives for people to learn handiwork and for those who are looking towards technology i.e. big data, digital analyst, IT etc can still pursue theirs as well.
