Love it. I’ve gone through a lot of cad tutorials and had not heard of a lot of the information you gave. I think you could definitely make a series out of this. Possibly make a video going through some autocad exercises?

Yes! Definitely plan to take you through the process more from start to finish with an example/exercise

Really helpful! I absolutely would love it if you'd make an AutoCAD miniseries, going into the details of the features. Thank you!!

I've been practicing as a Landscape Architect in the UK for 4 years now and I now find myself using revit instead of CAD a whole lot more on new projects as clients want BIM coordinated projects. Do you find yourself being asked similar things with new appointments? If so, it would be a great & informative video maybe, for people who are thinking of of going into the profession, students or even practicing LAs.

Revit is only potentially called for when working on building projects led by Architects. All other types of LA projects and projects we do with civil Engineers. Typically, the only LAs here who are starting to use Revit are those that work in bigger multi-diciplinary firms and really need that building integration. On the other hand, those focusing more on civil engineering style projects of roads, trails, and open space are still all in CAD since Revit has none of the tools offered by AutoCAD Civil 3D.

@@googletree Completely agree. I haven't worked in a mutli-dis company but seem to be asked more and more often to be using revit for large scale resi projects etc. Personally, I think using revit for LAs will be integral moving forward in the next 5-10 years as it ultimately creates a much more streamlined workflow.

I agree, and on some of the bigger projects we use the BIM system but upload cad versions. Until Civil agrees to move over to revit I don't think we will follow suit

Thank you for making this video Carter.
A similar video about Revit would also be appreciated since I believe it's taking over CAD at rapid speed.

I unfortunately do not know Revit and until Landscape Architecture shifts to primarily using that program I probably won't learn to lol!
