    The Phillips Motion sensor does not require the Phillips Hue Hub, as long as you have a Alexa echo with the built in Zigbee hub then you can connect it to the Alexa hub directly. This also allows for triggers to switch on other lights that are not Phillips Hue range of lights.

      This is true if using with Alexa. This video is specifically focused on using it with HomeKit. Thanks for watching! 😊

    I love Aqara but I have 3 ecobee occupancy sensors, curious how you would use a motion vs occupancy sensor and how ecobee stacks up for you

    • @AdamsTechLife

      i discussed this in detail in my best contact sensor video where i featured ecobee sensors. they work great, both have diff use cases.

    The Hue devices DO NOT require a hub. They work fine with a Zigbee dongle. At least the Hue devices you mentioned here. I've got all of them running with no Hue hub. WRT what do I use? I use a couple of the Hue motion sensors, but I have at least a half-dozen of the Aqara motion sensors. The price is right and the performance is fine.

    Hey when motion happens I want to make a sensor beep in several rooms? Do they have beeping or doorbell type sensors? Be cool if the device played a wav file or music video or whatever I wanted. Also I want a button for a doorbell. Any recommendations?

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  Před 2 lety +1

      The easiest option for both things is using aqara devices and m1s or another aqara hub. Can be programmed when motion detected play sound And using the aqara wireless mini switch for the doorbell. Thanks for watching! 😊

    Thanks. How fast does the Aqara sensor think that no one is in the room? Do you find yourself moving your arms just to turn on the light because it shut down the lights?

    • @AdamsTechLife
      @AdamsTechLife  Před 6 měsíci +1

      i think it's a few minutes. and yes, i think it can be adjusted in the aqara app but this is the problem with all motion sensors, an occupancy sensor is better if you're in the room but not moving.

    Aqara sensors don't work at all. I got 3 motion sensors P1. And you have to be about 1 foot away from the sensor, and you can't change anything on the sensor. Don't waste your money, plus it needs a hub!
