Tom, you have amazing tennis knowledge! You made a very informative and helpful video! This video will help so many players! As a beginner, when I play a big tournament, I always struggle to play against fast high spin groundstrokes(just like Nadal) from my opponents in rallies. I wonder how Djokovic or Federer use to play high speed spin groundstrokes they receive from their opponent. But thank you so much for making the previous and this video! I am practicing so that I can give a fight, especially to players who have topspin like Nadal! This tip, 9:10 , is game changer for beginners!
Glad it was helpful!!
What a clear explanation! Also you do well on clarify the grips for these kind of strokes. Is one of these better than other when we are close to the net or on baseline zone?
Thanks for the visit!
Thanks Tom ! A great video 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the visit!
what about Head level 1 handed Backhand topspin shot ? how do you hit that ?
Hi Tom! I finally started hitting well when my hitting partner hits topspin groundstrokes! I have one question. When I take backswing on forehand, my arm or elbow is away from torso. When I swing, my arm comes near the torso. Any tip on how to keep away the elbow from torso from backswing to the contact point? Thanks!
Give yourself good spacing do not get TOO CLOSE to the ball, the further away from the body you make contact (Greater radius of swing) the more power you will have... that will give you good incentive not to be TOO CLOSE and to swing away from the body.
Thanks!!
Do you mind sharing the brand of your ball machine?

Hi Tom, at the net you hit straight across not down to up. Does that mean no top spin here? How do you stop the ball going long? Closing the racket?
Even though I say, "straight across" there is a slight low to high and a brushing up to impart some topspin with a very slightly closed racket face.
