    Hi Eddie,
    I ordered one of these 3 months ago since I also liked the 3 memory settings and output power indication. Did find that the turn on rise waveform is non-monotonic and the output noise level is much too high especially for audio work. Radiated emission is also horrendous. When you have an AM radio nearby and turn on this power supply you can "hear" all the noise being emitted. Using a sniffer probe we can find the radiated emission is all coming from the front panel PCB with a STM8S10 SMU. Didn't like how they positioned the chassis ground post in between the + and - posts such that a 3/4" test adapter can be used when needed. Last but not least, there are (4) 1W SMT current sense resistors used and when the output is set to 24V or higher the temp measured on these resistors were well over 100 degC (hot!). As these are soldered right on the PCB, discoloring of the PCB shouldn't take too long to occur. For these reasons and some others not mentioned here I decided to return the PSU. For me it was one of the worse PSUs ever evaluated and I'm surprised Kaiweets is reselling this (unpronounceable) brand.

      Wow - thanks for this great feedback! I'll have to look into this and see if there's a good fix. I like the size and the setting work great. I like all the digits and ease to get the voltage that I want, but I have been having one crummy month and haven't had the chance to deep dive into this PS. I appreciate your great feedback!

    Hi Eddy
    I dont think it is a Kaiweet, the front says:
    Wanptek😂😆😉😍
    I got three wanptek, and I just ordered two like this yesterday, so I can build a plus-minus supply. I am very happy with wanptek, and even more after they changed the controll. Despite it having a fine knob it is absolutely hell to adjust precisely..
    PS what is the correct name or term for a plus/minus supply?

    • @KissAnalog
      @KissAnalog  Před rokem

      Thanks so much! You are correct (I believe) Kaiweets just sells it as well with the Wanptek name. Viewers here get a 15% discount for Kaiweets just use the KA15 code.
      The fine tune knob on mine you can push it in to move the control to any digit and adjust, so mine is easy to get precise voltage outputs.
      The Plus and Minus setup using 2 power supplies is simply a series power supply connection with the middle terminals that connect being your zero volt ref in relationship to the top (positive) and the bottom (negative) voltages. Make sense? BTW - great way to get 2 rail voltages for amplifiers;) I did a video on this using two Kaiweets PS: czcams.com/video/zWNxDlWrafw/video.html

    Hey, I just got mine like today as I'm writing this comment. I wanted to ask, can I have the fan always on ? Is there an option / hack to do so ? Because I like my electronics to always run cool :) Seems like this fan barely turns on...

    • @KissAnalog
      @KissAnalog  Před 10 měsíci

      Thanks for your feedback! I would think that you could modify it to keep the fan on. But, I think they did a nice job and this thing is really efficient, so I'm actually happy not to have the fan noise;)

    What do you use the green ground terminal for?

      Thanks for your feedback. Yes this one with the memory buttons is very nice. It is on a 20% off sale so it is about $80: amzn.to/3XqjwZ1
      The ground terminal can be used to tie your load to chassis/earth ground if that is desired. I almost never use that.

    All these new switchers are rubbish and noisy by my standards, can also do really funny things with high precision circuitry making you chase your tail when the source of the problem is the supply not your circuit.. it of course depends on what your doing with it..
