15 Times DC League Of Super-Pets Copied The Secret Life Of Pets

DC League of Superpets wasn’t the first film in recent history to animate animals and learn what they're about. Illumination Studios’ The Secret Life of Pets came out in 2016, and there’s some pretty big similarities between the two. Granted, the animals in that film aren’t super-powered, but there are a lot of details that the two films share similarities including voice actors, character relationships, the cute but deadly trope, some sad dog backstories, the theme of teamwork, dog self-sacrifice, a language shared by all animals except humans, different species of animals teaming up in order to achieve the same goal, a reliance on toilet humor, betrayal arcs committed by human characters, the films centering around dogs who are domesticated, a treasure trove of easter eggs to be found in either film, animals that are separated from their owners for the majority of the films, animated animals that look very different than what they’d look like in the real world, and both films have a post-credit scene which features a prominent cameo appearance. Children love to see animated animals get into all kinds of predicaments, and films that follow dogs are very popular for a lot of folks, so it’s fair to have some films overlap in some ways. These two films are a bit eerily similar in how they line up however, and so we’re here today in order to go over some of the more striking similarities there are between The Secret Life of Pets and the more recent DC League of Super-Pets.
