I can't tune by cutting the arrows, I've got a 32"draw...so I tune with insert or outsert and point weight out of my 50 lb Black Widow PMA

Does shooting off the shelf require more tuning than off a rest?

More arrow tuning. With a rest you can adjust the rest to improve arrow flight.
