out of pure grinding reasons, wood and stone (on a server with somewhat realistic resources). If you are playing SP or MP on a server with bonkers multipliers or build with console, each to his own I guess?

I'm trying my best to create a step by step tutorial for my next video at the moment which is a viking longhouse build, it's so hard lmao, especially when my brain likes to tell myself to tear something down and try something new. I'm trying my absolute best though 😆, i might come back to these ones in the future and redo them

I think even more "volume texture" could have been achieved by using quarter walls and railings.
The paintjob was so cool. It's a cool color scheme and it really enhances the design. And I really appreciate that you don't just do the outside, too.

@@mainwaringjohn Maybe a cozy snow cabin with a artic research stration 😏, i need to do a much smaller build for the next video, this took too much time lmao
Easier way to do the elevator: use quarter metal ceilings under the dino gate and it should go out far enough to avoid clipping the gate, and still give you a snap point for the tracks that perfectly lines up with the floors. putting the little quarter ceiling threshold under dino gates solves a lot of asthetic "the gate is overhanging" issues too
This is genius, I wish I had done this instead of the pillar trick I used. This would have worked well and been quicker to implement! Thanks for your comment! Will give this ago next time I do a similar project 😆
i'd love to see the interior tutorial, I recreated this build on my game and transformed it into a viking castle, the shape is the exact same except for the details, this build is amazing man congrats

did you build it in the same spot? bc on my end i have a bunch of rocks and trees around that area an it doesnt allow me to build there.., :/
there will be rocks and trees in the area I built but you just need to go around and collect all the materials, so chop the trees, mine the rocks and they'll all disappear for you to be able to build there XD, plus! You get all the resources in return, it's a win win! 😁😁@@legoshrk

doing the chimney and reservoir pieces working like i thought it would is amazing. saw a few build ideas i've seen others use and thought it was cool incorporated ideas. i prefer using the railings over ramps/roofs for non-turbine windwills. waiting for someone to make one of those water wheels. i like the concept of the base but i wouldn't probably build this one.
Omg I never even thought about using the railings for a turbine that would have worked fantastic 😱 what a great idea, I've got to try this out now 😍. I wish the turbine was in the game cause it would have been so good! I could have made the turbine I made into a water wheel next to the river, that's a good idea
@@LolsAtLance we will be getting turbines back at the end of December hopefully when scorched comes out. that is if everything plans out with the map release since things have been messed up.
@@LolsAtLance just incase have you seen the 3 or so different ways to create circle buildings in ascended? you can try adding that to your future builds as well.

Those floating rocks at 1:20 can disappear but i think the setting makes you lag more

Thanks so much ❤️ so sorry for the late reply on this, I'm glad he loved my ocean resort haha 😆😆. So for the steam, Its a bit fiddly, you basically put in the water towers first, then you try your best to put a fireplace directly below them, so underneath the roof I'll put a fireplace and the chimney sort of goes through the water towers, when you turn the fire place on it gives the smoke and that's what then shows through the water towers.... I hope this makes sense 😂😁 let me know if not and I can send a screenshot on my discord server

Hey I realise this one's not such a step by step process lol, cause I kept changing my mind, like I mentioned on the other comment feel free to pop on my discord and message me, I'll be more than happy to help, but it's all just plain simple roofing, use sloped roofs, no overhangs 👍 hope this helps!

I swear I recognize some of the music and I like the others but it’s killing me I can’t place the songs.
You'll kick yourself when you know 😆, first is ark of course, then it's pokemon colloseum (menu music), then it's super Mario galaxy (gusty garden galaxy) and lastly more pokemon colloseum (friendly battle music ).. used to love that game and the music's nostalgic for me

You could give even more detail to the patchwork theme by just randomly flipping the walls one way or another and also using quarter walls in place of a single wall. Oh the Ideas!
