Not sure where Shoegaze would ever take off. It has'nt in the States, and it didn't in England in the late eighties, early nineties, even though it's some of the greatest sounding music ever produced.

A lot of these bands are rock'n'roll self-destruct cliche first and music second, sort just attached. Personality cult!
It sounds like he's having a constant identity crisis with a mixture of drug use. The music is somewhat blurred like a Monet or Van Gogh painting. It's art.
