Nice
Thank you so much :]
YIESSS
When? Looking so much foward!
"We've had one, yes! .. but what about a second birthday?!"
Perfection!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Good one!!
I don't think he knows about second birthday... ;)
🤣👏👏
More like a second breakfast!
Imagine youre a helicopter pilot dropping in on a mountain top and you look down and see a hobbit directing your landing
I think we all owe a lot to Henry Mortensen.
Why? What should we know?
He convinced his dad Viggo Mortensen to play Aragorn.
Yes thank you Henry
Yes young Henry also had a part in Helms Deep and Return of the King.
The world!
Liv Tyler's beautifully tranquil voice is so underrated when it comes to making her such a perfect choice for the cast. I could listen to her talk about anything and it would sound calming and mythical.
When Sir Christopher Lee recites the ringverse, is as it was writen for him. It feels so right
Build me an army worthy of mordor !!!
Omg it’s insane!!
Magical
Sir Lee was a member of SAS, a British commando. He was a killing machine in real life during WWII. Much respect to the man.
If you didn’t know, Christopher Lee has done full fledged audiobooks for some of Tolkien’s works that you can find on itunes
Sean is Sam in real life and that makes me so happy 🥺
Lord of the Rings was Orlando Bloom’s first movie?!?!?!?!?!?! Talk about a debut!!!!
I know wow 🤩
It's like applying for a job and becoming CEO after 1 day
@@rustyblade9366 couldn’t have said it better myself.
I know right. So cool!
Iirc he broke his back right before too
Sean is truly the dad or rather the Sam of the group. It's so lovely to witness their group chemistry
It’s funny, it’s February 27, 2022, and I only just watched the entire trilogy (as well as The Hobbit trilogy) and now understand why this has such a HUGE cult-like following.
Billy Boyd’s song for the end credits of Battle Of The Five Armies is THE perfect end cap for all six movies!
Welcome to the group, friend! Always happy to see someone find the joy of this series.
Same I just finished both trilogies and I understand the hype sooo much !
Welcome to the cult friend ❤
Read the book if you have time. You will not regret it.
Agreed. Peter Jackson even said on the press panel for Battle of the Five Armies that Billy Boyd's song at the end was almost like a hand over from The Hobbit trilogy to the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He explained that it was a song to bridge the gap between the two trilogies.
A lot of people did not like Hobbits, I loved Hobbits, but LOTR ...... you can feel their connection through the screen. Different times, people were talking to each other, most of them were nobody at the time and they all really really connecter, and as a viewer, you could feel it. Whenever they cried I cried, Whenever they lost I felt like I lost. Masterpiece! Huge thank you to Tolkien for creating not only the story but the whole world and thank you P. Jackson for taking time and putting so much effort into turning a written masterpiece into a visual masterpiece.
In my opinion, the Hobbits are the best represented characthers in the trilogy, they had the most solid arc of the entire saga and it's really easy to sympathized with then and seeing the end of their journey was so satisfying.
The nostalgia, like, it is breaking my heart knowing that this was 21 years ago.. I'm so freaking blessed that I grew up with these movies.
Im gonna say it now Peter Jackson deciding to recast The role of Aragorn to Vigo Mortessen is possibly one of the greatest decisions in the history of film no one would have not of been able to play the part of Aragorn he was perfect for the role
Anyone else notice Sean Bean tear up when he was telling a funny story about filming his (Boromir's) death scene? Really exemplifies how amazing of an actor he is, that he became so engulfed in his role, that even bringing up the scene of his death causes him to be emotional. Pure talent!
The authentic relationships that were forged in making the LOTR came thru the movie, made the movie feel so much more fantastic.
I'm so thankful that these Appendices exist. They make me laugh. Billy Boyd is hysterical. I only wish that I had been a New Zealander during those years. I'd have loved to be a part of this. I'd have swept the floor, just for a chance to see this unfolding.
yes! same!
Gimli and Legolas have the same vibe on and off screen and I'm here for that bromance
It's so cool how they had never met but became such good friends and created amazing friendships in the films.
That’s what makes LOTR different from the rest of films
25:20
Even when he's not acting, Christopher Lee's voice sends chills up my spine
It’s insane that Peter Jackson was given this budget for these movies with his resume being low budget horror films. I’m so glad the studio put faith in him.
Dont u miss the good times when movies were created with pure attention to detail, love, and respect for the capabilities of many artists
I've seen the appendices way more than the film trilogy. The absolute love and attention to detail is overwhelming. I feel like I was there, very strange but I find them very comforting. Def goes on if I can't sleep.
I also love how comforting they are! Like a friend that's always there
@@xlrouge absolutely!
So basically Sean Astin is the moms of the group 😆
Lovely man
Everything about these movies, from the actors, to the set design, to miniature work etc was something I will never again see in my lifetime. Even the behind the scenes stuff is legendary
"I'm from the north.." Yes, you are Lord Stark!
Whoa! Christopher Lee - like the ghost of Tolkien in the set. Awesome 👏🏼
22:08
Forgot Oscars, and any other reward one could receive, getting a compliment from Christopher Lee is a huge honor and would probably mean the most to me of I was in Ian’s shoes
The difference between Viggo and Aragorn is insane
Well, thank you Harry for convincing your dad to be Aragon. How cool is that.
Kudos to the casting director. All the actors have the exact character with their real life personality!
Like seriously.
Billy Boyd fitted perfectly as a hobbit since the moment he took the plane to LA:
Having more than one breakfast and birthday per day says it all😂
Watching this after all the wonderful updates on the Amazon series… at least we have this trilogy to keep the visual and sonic aspects of LOTR alive. I will forever love the score to these movies. Brings instant happiness
Sean Astin not trusting the safety conditions on the film set now seems very wise, totally justified. Sadly.
What are you alluding to?
@@Jennifer-gk8lw Alec Baldwin, for one. Lots of other stories about poor filmset safety conditions in the background, too.
@@paryanindoeur I didn't realise Alec Baldwin was in Lord of the rings, and I thought it was not a holywood project either! RIP Brandon Lee.
@@Infyra Never change, Internet.
@@paryanindoeur lol.
Omg...the boat story had me!!!!! John's narration was perfect.
Hands done one of the greatest trilogy's in movie history. I remember watching the first one at the cinema for first time and loving it, and could not wait to find out what happens next. Needless to say I certainly made sure I got to pictures to see the next two and loved them just as much.
The OST still lights a fire in my heart.
its so funny seeing them make fun of sean astin for trying to check if everyones doing their job correctly cause i wouldve been that person too 😭🥴 respect to all my anxious kings and queens out there
Watched it already more than almost 10 times on DVD but I love this always 💜💜💜
Happy and Healthy New Year to all!
Good wishes to you and your loved ones.
May you be as wise as wizard, curious as a hobbit, hardy as a dwarf, graceful as an elf, and courageous as a human (I’m especially thinking of Éowyn).
May your year be full of wonderful adventures and surprises (like a 2nd breakfast!), great discoveries, and sweet memories.
May the light of the Eldar guide you and the might of the Valar protect you.
May it be…Pass the ale and the good wishes!
After watching this just makes me so excited to see Ring of Power… bomb
25:30 just a quick phrase by Sir Christopher Lee, but man, did it send shivers down my spine. WOW!
When Christopher Lee started the one ring chant, the room around me seemed to grow darker.
These behind the scene videos are something special in their own right.
Omg Sean Austin appointing himself the real life Sam to Elijah is amazingly heart breaking!
I’m so happy to find this. I’m having a horrible day. Thank you.
Hey mate, keep your head up and think about stuff that brings you happiness. Look after yourself.
Me too, hope you're doing better now. Remember everything comes in cycles 💫
so sad to see the hobbit behind the scenes compared to this. You really get the feelings that the people really enjoyed being on set together in LOTR
Though it is only the Cast segment of the appendecies, the Untouchable vibe, friendships, CLEAR natural diversity, love and utmost care of honoring this monumental project as a Tolkien masterpiece is beyond and above Clear & it being apparent.
This is what happened when you humbly and sincerely respect the source material in all its aspects in good spirits and in execution, to simply tell a story ; A Beginning, A middle, Climax, Twist, Challenge and an End. Above all else, as it should be.
No forced, false, out of context agendas, out of place accusational politics, that doesnt even exists in Tolkien's world to begin with.
6:51 i was expecting sean to say; "i just wanna help" in Sam's voice xD
Lol I just meant to watch only a couple minutes of this bcus I have to get some sleep but instesd I ended up finishing it! Love this trilogy so much! Night👋🏾
I like that there is not a lof of back ground music. Just the actors telling their storys.
20 years old ...Best film
Remarkable video retrospective. I cannot thank you enough! 🙏👏
I used to spend my days after school watching these dvds BTS.... so lucky and grateful for that, it formed who I was becoming like Dom said at the end.
So wonderful to see this!! It makes the movie even more special. Thankyou for posting!! 🎥
Thank you for uploading these!!!! A long, long time ago I watched the behind the scenes on the dvds and almost enjoyed them more than the movies. Thank you so, so much for uploading these onto the Tube. I no longer have access to those dvds and so it is really nice to view and share this material with others again. Thank you for your service! Also:
BRING THE PARTRIDGE!
U guys don't what you gave us a masterpiece
I will watch these parts every time of my life
Always was a fan of the books. The movies were great and seeing the characters talk about their friendship is so heartwarming. Thank you for everything!
@4:47 - Holy cow, I did not know that Peter Jackson was that small - he's the size of a hobbit. But great director anyway.
It makes me so happy to hear how everyone has such great chemistry between eachother
I absolutely adore this featurette. Love the relationship between the cast members from complete strangers to really close friends.
Watching John Rhys Davies beating the shite out of stunt orcs made my day haha
Dominic: Billy, I was so blessed to meet billy.
Billy: Doms an idiot.
After you appeared in this triology you could never be cast in anything better. this is the ultimate triology and will never be bettered.
The best movies ever. They made history.
My all time favourite ❤️masterpiece. Peter Jackson and whole crew did amazing Job respectfully bringing Tolkiens world alive for us to enjoy and love ❤️
Love to watch this movie again and again
Fantastic Casting what a cast!
I will cherish this wonderful look of times that have been and look fond to them, as the future only hold destruction... I will hold this dear to my hear and it will fill me with warm in the cold nights and days ahead.
Sean Bean is a goodlooking guy. Intense actor. But Christopher Lee quoting the ring verses blew me away. I could not see him being 90 years old. I was fascinated that he read the trilogy every year for decades.
One of the best epics ever made
That's so cool for viggo to have his co stars speak about him like that ❤️
Best triolgy of all times, my favourite as a child!
The most perfect cast ever, the best movie ever.
Just thinking that Viggo wasn't the first casting choice always blows my mind because he's probably the most perfect casting in the trilogy, except for maybe Bernard Hill.
I miss these guys so much
I come here and watch this before Amazon destroys my beloved LOTR cinematic experience.
Couldn't tell you how many times I've watched this
Hard to believe it's been over 20 years since these movies were made. And Elijah Wood looks exactly the same.
Miss these days
''I call him a Southern softie and he calls me... a Northern bastard'' LMAO
Elijah wood is me in a sense. I can sleep through anything and WILL sleep anywhere, I'm clumsy and always falling but I can get right back up again, and I'm always doing things like misplacing my stuff or locking my keys in places.
Sometimes I want nothing more than to just nap on the floor/ground but people would probably think I was dead or injured and interrupt my nappypoo
My head may live here in a digital civilisation, my heart may belong to great fandoms and their fictional characters, but my soul will always belong to Middle Earth. To my home...
Thank you peter jackson for lord of the rings cast selections.
You helped us have a good life experience.
Such film movies have bonded people closer in relations and memory.
Thank you for fellowship friends🍻
The legacy lives on
He had 1 birthday, yes. What about second birthday?
Gosh every time I see Elijah wood here he reminds me of my son. My Ian has the same expressions when he talks and those kind of sad / sweet puppy eyes.
This stuff is so awesome
My favourite part of the appendices
21:33 just for my own reference of Ian and Elijah talking about living in the same trailer
Wow after 2 decades discoverinng this video oh my !
This is as amazing as LOTR. I love it!
Amazing ‼😍
BEST TRILOGY EVER!!!
Christopher Lee was also a heavy metal enthusiast 🤘🏻🎸
Lovely to see my family again outside the film
Love this movie
Imagine being told you're gonna meet someone named Orlando Bloom
Dom's impressions are everything
THIS is Lord of The Rings. Not the pile of crap Amazon is pushing.
We salute you, forever 💟
did anyone ever wonder that perhaps the reason why Sean Astin was so stressed about that security stuff is because he's a dad. That's just dad behaviour XD
