      I know, right!? Crazy how far we've come. I think Vantage is finally the tool that has made real time render at the same kind of quality I am used to in Vray. Another important element is that the integration is basically seamless. There is no conversion process, or import process, that really gets in the way. They found the right balance for me, and I am happy to finally embrace this intuitive way of rendering. I love the instant feedback.

    Great Video as usual. I've been working with Vantage as well. I'm trying to work out how to get it closer to a Vray non-Vantage render. The normal Vray render has a more "Real" factor to it. I feel like this comes out more like TwinMotion. Which is not a bad thing. It's amazing for so many projects for sure. I'm hoping they get Vray Decal working with it soon. Thanks for another useful vid.

    Nice overview and very helpful. I've had Vantage for over a year and never really leveraged it in my work. I've been sending everything to UE5 but was missing the image quality. I'm sorry that I didn't understand what Vantage was capable of and wasted the past year not using it. Thank you for "awakening" me...lol... Love your work!

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, I think for a lot of the things that I need/want to do in arch viz on a daily basis, Vantage is actually higher quality for a lot less work. However, there are still things for which UE5 would be the better solution, like a full VR walkthrough that can be exported as an .exe file.

      @guitop Před rokem +1

      @@Learn-archViz Agree, but that's not the point of Vantage or D5. UE is good for... gaming, so it will be good for anything that needs to be interactive or VR oriented.

    Complex animation scenes with complex rig system, deformation, slider, etc, probably will not work in Vintage.

    Vantage 2.0 arrived. It's just a game changer! I was struggling using unreal engine 5, The file export or direct link makes me headache, because I have to re adjust lighting and materials in unreal engine to acceptable real world feel , It's still complicated for most of the people even me 15 years in this industry. But vantage 2 just over kills it all, No need to learn anything, just raytrace everything accurate in realtime( No offense but I feel unreal engine still do the tricky things with lumen, Not as accurate as Vray did in real time raytracing), and no need to export or directlink datasmith shit, just render lively with another window in real time. and vantage 2 can even render animations almost everything in 3dsmax like bones people, so it's a life saver for all vray lovers.

    The only problem with Vantage is you can't use it with heavy scenes, not heavy polygon like the 1 billion mentioned in this video but heavy in memory. I have an RTX card with 16GB of memory and my 3ds max scenes that take up more memory than that won't work at all for a fly through in vantage.

    I'm exploring options to replace Enscape as I fear its days are numbered, I'd love Lumion but the cost rules that out immediately, so I'm left with Vantage, D5 and Twinmotion. I work on landscape concepts so I don't require hyper reality, my main requirements are ease of use, a good vegetation asset library and compatibility with a Spacemouse - that last one rules out D5, and Twinmotion has partial compatibility from what I've seen.

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Před rokem +1

      It seems like Twinmotion would be the closest thing to providing what you need. Vantage is more of a great tool if you are already using 3ds Max/Vray

    This is definitely the way things are going to be moving forward. The technology has come so far just in the last couple of years. Speed and ease of use has been a huge driver for programs like Enscape, Lumion and Twinmotion. Chaos' biggest threat at the moment is Unreal as far as quality in the real time market, but Chaos seems to be addressing that. Let's hope for morphed meshes so we can have animated characters soon. This is the one thing holding me back from an animation project I have coming up and would love to use Vantage on but the frozen characters don't work in this case. Adam, which real time engine do you prefer for quick animations that require animated entourage?

    • @guitop
      @guitop Před rokem +1

      Unreal Engine isnt a threat because it's painfull to setup a scene in it for the same quality that Vantage can do in a simple click. All is setup as a normal/usual vray scene in 3DS Max. And when you work in archviz or design, the multiple change during the project, even in the last hours of a project is too much for a workflow in unity or unreal engine.
      In Vantage the back and forth is reaaaally simple and fast. i wouldnt think to compare it to Unreal engine actually.

    Hey, this is an amazing turorial! can you tell me how to animate objects and Lights ?

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Před rokem

      Yes, it needs to be done on the 3ds Max side as far as I know. You will see that there is a track in the animation panel (in Vantage) for any animation that came in with the .vrscene. If you animate those things in 3ds Max, then link to Vantage, the animation info will translate. Sadly, I don't think there is a way yet to animate those things within Vantage itself. I really want this to be a new feature added in the future.

    • @Learn-archViz

      Well...Vantage is a separate, stand-alone software base on .vrscene files which have been around for a long time. That said, I have not specifically tested that it works with older versions of V-Ray. I am using with V-Ray 5, but I bet it can be used with older versions as well.

      They are hard to compare. They are different kinds of programs that fill different needs. IMO, Lumion would be easier to use and learn for good results. Vray + Vantage process is more involved, but has a potential for higher accuracy in rendering results. If you already know Vray, Vantage is an obvious choice.
