I hope Everyone has a fantastic time at Go Wild 😊
I love your spread Cindy! Desiree you are so creative!!
Thank you for not feeding into the "Texans wear boots/hats" thing. Some of us do, but I'd say the vast majority do not. :D
I hope you enjoy Texas. I wish I was closer to DFW so I could have gone but, well I'm a teacher and it's state testing time so I couldn't be out! lol
Desiree, I LOVE IT! This will be my first Go Wild Conference and I am so looking forward to it. This spread reflects me so well and I can't wait to finally see you in person! It's going to be a fantastic time, and yes I arrive on Wednesday as well!
❤🎉you are sooo close to 50k! ❤🎉

Cute spread! And we usually don’t dress in boots and hats in the city areas. I have two sets of boot/hats-one set for when I’m working the field (scuffed and dirty), and another group (gorgeous turquoise embroidered boots and a couple of pretty hats) for nicer events. I’d say they’re more common in Fort Worth than in Dallas. I do think it’ll be fun for those who want to Cowgirl it up!
As a Texan, I will say, my brothers, sister in law and nephew wear cowboy boots when they are working on the ranch. My husband who is a farmer wears work boots, not cowboy boots. The only time most non ranching people wear boots is at the rodeo or for a country music concert or dance. Men are much more often to wear cowboy hats than women, and again, if it’s not for the rodeo, it is mostly the people who work on ranches and farms that wear them.
I wasn’t saying any of this to be rude or disrespectful or anything. I hope it didn’t sound that way. I was just trying to be informative. I hope you enjoy Texas and have a great time at Go Wild!
So this is adorable! BUT I really wish people would stop calling sticker strips "washi." (I know, I know, everyone is doing it, but it's incorrect and silly.) Also, Texans do not call them "cowboy boots." They just call them boots. I am dying to see how all these llamas show up, as I'd bet their dress-up outfits are going to scream "TOURIST WITH NO CLUEZ!"but be pretty fun. IDK what to wear to planjama as I'm not wearing what I actually wear to sleep.
I like calling them washi stickers! even if it is wrong to call it that I am probably going to keep doing it especially since I think the whole point of them is to mimic washi on a spread...that's why we add the sticker part to it lol so to me it makes complete sense. I can't wait to see everyone there it is going to be fun!
I might wish people would stop calling calabrese “broccoli”, but I keep that to myself & recognize it has zero meaningful impact on my life or wellbeing. I think calling something that is designed to mimic washi in sticker form by the name “washi (strips/stickers)” makes perfect sense. I could also point out that what people outside of Japan typically understand as washi (ie the rolls of paper tape) is not actually true washi, either. The only “correct”/authentic washi is a handmade paper formed from the fibres of the inner barks of kozo, mitsumata, and gamp, & is only made by a rapidly dwindling number of traditional artisans. It’s not a protected or otherwise trademarked term, however, and our language and word usage evolves to reflect the changing nature of the products inspired by the original craft.
What a great spread! I’m sure Cindy will be excited to receive it and then to get the opportunity to meet you. 💙💛🪴
