Prisoners can get anything they want in prison, if they can pay for it.

They all have tvs and most have small kettles the public have no idea about jails .

You can jerry rig a phone charger with the kettle lead. There's tvs, game consoles, radios ect in there. In some jails it's a holiday camp. I was in jail 20yrs ago and even then we had tvs, kettles radios in the cell but not many had mobiles unlike today. You just have to look on youtube for them

All prisons should have mobile signal blockers ,and the people he's phoning should be named they are a danger to the public

They say they cannot do this as it would effect the local housing as some houses are up against prison walls.

I used to run a record label from an office building directly adjacent to the wall of a prison. Your idea would have stopped my livelihood, and those of a dozen other businesses.

Bring back capital punishment and make it an option.

sure, but bear in mind the last couple of people who got that treatment in the UK later proved to have been innocent. That's cold blooded murder, the first time the court kills the wrong person the judge and jury should face exactly the same fate.

Are there no mobile phone jammers or 'false base stations' used? They exist. False base/relay stations are also used by intelligence organizations for 'man in the middle' listening to illicit conversations. Or failing to hand off to genuine mobile provider relay stations. Inasmuch as the presence of inmates' mobiles in prison is illegal, I would expect that any measures to intercept them be legal.

It's a common occurrence here in South Africa, which is why we follow American English and call mobiles 'cell phones'.

Search the staff every shift. Theyre bringing most of the contraband in
