"With a car-based chassis and attractive styling, the 2007 Lincoln MKX is a fresh alternative to more established luxury crossover SUVs; however, its questionable brakes and so-so cabin furnishings leave it a few steps behind the leaders in this class." (Edmunds.com)

The guy nitpicks a lot "I don't like the looks and the feel of that SUV. I don't even like shape of the rocks on which this car sits".

Great in-depth review. My LX470 was totaled recently and am looking at a smaller SUV with better mpg as a replacement.
What had me look twice at a used MKX is that many owners online give it great reviews.
Also looking at Lexus RX350/400h, Acura MDX and Nissan Murano.
Love the Infiniti FX, but there just isn't enough room inside for storage.

I am looking at a used 2003 Lexus LX 470..but the rear air suspension is scaring me as those always go bad. Can you tell me how reliable yours was? Any major things I need to watch out for when looking for one? Thanks.

thk u.. finally someone that actually admits that those are plastic wheel covers.. im tired of dealers and previous owners stating that this car has chrome rims.. they are plastic silver painted hubcaps.. now take off $1000 and knock it off!!!

Its nice to see a 2TRL editor that doesn't just praise a ford vehicle for 8 or so minutes. (like some of the other editors) I like that Christian actually pointed out some flaws, yet still shows how the MKX is a good car.

My 2008 MKX failed at 95,600 km . The wrench and engine light came on the day before ( when I first heard that clunk sound when I put in reverse , then drive)
the very next day on the way to the dealer at the intersection the transmission just completely gave way, there was nothing, No reverse, No drive, NOTHING.
So from the others on you tube - what we are gathering is that it can be a speed sensor ?? if so , why is the dealer not changing these sensors then?
The transmission has to be replaced now - (Big bill $$) Lincoln has faulty transmission and Lincoln should be paying for this.

Thanks for the warning. I was going to buy a used 2009 with about 140k miles for about $7k..but not now after hearing so many complaints about the quality of this vehicle. What did you do? Did you fix it or buy something else? I'm now looking at a used 2003 Lexus GX 470..but am not sure due to it having a rear air suspension..and air suspensions always break down.

the newer Lincoln's are becoming more and more different from the Ford cousins. In fact the 2011 and up MKX have a more refinded and different look inside than its brother the Ford Edge. The updates to the MKS and MKT really make a difference and feel more sprate than the Ford platforms they are based upon.

I have this car. Make sure the PTU (AWD Transfer case) has been replaced. They like to fail on these and the Edge, bad design from ford as they overheat when the AWD is used for long sessions. Stealership hit me with a $1700 bill. They replaced it with an updated PTU. They still do not admit fault for recall.

So what is the blue book price for a 2007 MKX 16,000 miles. In mint condition. Approximately. Can anyone tell me.

  • @erinapple156

I was going to buy one until I saw those stupid warning tags on the visor, wish ford and GM would listen to the customers GM has very loud chimes that I run from.
And if the fuel door isn't on the drivers side I will not purchase it that's a definite NO.

Love the review... but the car? Not so much. I believe that Lincoln needs a MUCH stronger offering in this highly contested segment. Lincoln as a brand needs to regain its focus and purpose in the industry. Most Lincoln dealerships are apart of Ford dealerships, which, in my opinion, leads to lower Lincoln sales. I personally could not justify purchasing a new MKX over a new fully loaded Escape. Ford's interiors on upper models are honestly capable of gaining luxury status. C'mon Lincoln!

the wheels they put on then were the plastic coating. they need polished wheels so they dont do that.

  • @Dunoj
    @Dunoj Před 12 lety +1

I don't like that the climate control goes from 60-65 with no in between adjustment. I also feel like the plastics in there in sound and look cheap. I believe at this price point that all windows should be one touch. Same sun visor as in my Taurus except that mine doesn't have a light in it. The light fixture in the rear is also the same one as my Taurus except mine uses regular light and not those blueish bulbs.

Was this filmed at a junk yard? Just kidding. Lol..the car must have been in an accident though. The body lines where the rear doors close don't line up with the rest of the body.
