Uvalde students who made 911 calls from inside Robb Elementary honored for bravery

The students received honors from the National 911 Heroes program.

I know these children were being recognized for their bravery and it is certainly well deserved considering the risks they took that day, but I cannot help thinking that no matter the amount of awards and recogniziton that these children get they will be scared for life after witnessing the things they saw.

Legislation isn't passed by sitting in a recliner chair wishing, and hoping. Without the support from "concerned" parents, teachers, youtube viewers and all citizens alike, what's the point? Anyone can point fingers a year after the massacre, anyone can look shamefully down at another state. I can do that, but it takes courage for citizens to get involved in their communities to stop these senseless acts of violence, rather than sitting around waiting on law enforcement or government officials to always fix the problem.
