    I've always wanted to do a modern laptop comparison! I wanted to see what would be the best use cases for these new Creator Laptops. What do you think, would you get a lot out of the second screen or the Dial?

      @batmanonholiday4477 Před rokem

      I don't think there is a point in either the dial or the second screen to be honest. The dial is ok, but if you use a mouse , this feature is already there in the roller anyways . The second screen is also a gimmick. Its too small to make much of a difference, while it crams the space and makes the keyboard and trackpad difficult to use. A much better option would be to simply get a 13-15 inch external display. The biggest dealbreakers are that both of these laptops have terrible glossy screens and that they are also not very powerful. But anyways, I guess its just a paid promo review.

    I wanted the 2nd gen Zenbook Duo, ordered it the day it launched, and got a call from the retailer two weeks later saying they were all sold out. Same happened for the next four laptops, trying different retailers... The 2020 semiconductor shortage was taking no prisoners. I ended up securing a GE76 Raider, so I'm good for a while, but - like you - I'm super happy these laptops exist and am keeping up with reviews like these for when I'm ready to upgrade. 💕

    Even though I have both, I like them for both reasons! I would say do desktop by default, unless you have some circumstance that says otherwise. Remoting in is always a possibility- but when I’m not animating having a VJ laptop is amazing. A laptop that can run visuals for edm raves :3

    That second screen is very usefull for blender
    Every time iam working on an animation with my 15 inch laptop , i feel the screen is too small for my workflow , soo ithink a second screen can be very good for putting on timeline or video sequencer or like keyframes etc..
    But one thing i want to know is that blender on Default settings use the native screen resolution in viewport to show u the thing ur working on and i feel like if u have 2 4k displays that are working together at the same time in a 3D app can really put some streess to the GPU and power consumption , and potentionaly Speeds up the FANS ???

    Been waiting for this video since i saw the ig live! The zenbook looks tightt

  • @martinvanstein.youtube

    Problem with laptops is always thermal throttling and you pay more for way less performance you have with a desktop.
    Currently I have a HP Zbook (older model) and it is okay and I can do 3D (Maya) , except for rendering as it just takes calendar months to render anything, but what I do like is that you actually have a sturdy design, good support and durability ... all these things ASUS and even like an HP Omen produce are always these plastic cheap feeling things that break easily.
    I have used this machine daily for about 5 years now and only recently I had to replace the keyboard (some keys broke down) , which cost about 50 bucks and I can work again.
    Obviously it is getting on in age and performance is dropping for creative work, but I can edit in Davinci Resolve as well as do basic 3D and it still feels snappy.
    So if you're going to buy a laptop, I would advise people to pick a more premium version , be it a ZBook an Apple M3 and forget these cheaper versions that sit in the middle between budget and high end ... as it is often teh worse of both world and not some happy medium.

Either one requires the company to support these oddball features, and from my experience they work for about a year, at least they work well for about a year. Not to mention supporting alternative operating systems, that pen that runs off microsoft's drivers is just not going to work on linux.
