Bob Dylan busting a string and Ron Wood giving him his guitar and then fetches another for himself. Priceless.
It was kinda stupid. Bob is only strumming. You can play chords on 3 strings, let alone 5
He's a generation bellow , coming from the Beatnik era ! !
one of these has won a Nobel prize - but all - are brilliant
And brilliantly stoned.
Even better is when Ron comes back he steps away from the mic and listens to the guitar before going ahead and playing!!!!
39 years later and all three of them are still going strong. How impressive
Miraculous scene! Jack Nicholson introducing Bob Dylan with such an enthusiasm! And Dylan singing one of the iconic songs with Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood! All the applauses are not enough. Thanks.

XXXOOO THANK YOU DEAR BOBBY
Yes jack
You got that right , word has it they were partying all night. But Bob as the supper professional he is can come out with always great performance. But looking at Keith and Ronnie its easy to tell 😅
Don’t care what anyone says I’ll always love Bob Dylan . . . ♥️
Ideal song for Live Aid 1985...23 yrs after he wrote it, he sounded better than ever--phrasing, lyrics, acoustic guitars--we'll never see or hear anybody like Bob Dylan...the only Nobel Laureate in contemporary music history
Geh zum Ohren Doktor, irgendwas mit deinen Ohren stimmt nicht!
I guess, if you admire grouped dialogue…
its still living in.
Amen 🙏🏽, anyone who can discern the deeper meaning to Dylan’s message is blessed. Many don’t understand his genius, their loss .
Alcohol and cocaine all of them
I've grown old now. But I also grew up during on of the best times to be born into. What a time to be young. Watching all the wonderful things from that era come into focus. The social changes...the cool cars and to some degree the early marijuana days... but mostly the music. The music. Watching these treasures brings back the memories from those times. They carry me back to a time of great hope. And prosperity....How lucky we were to be there. And as Paul Simon says in a song about old friends... "preserve your memories...they're all that's left you". And these poets singing their music. They trigger those memories again. What a great way to grow old. I'm so grateful to have landed here, back then.
Arnold Broberg so very true. I don’t think I will live much longer but I am so happy that I lived through those great times and have such memories to,ponder on
"To some degree......." oh, yeah, LMAO!
I am with you buddy the youngsters today only see plastic manufactured bands, not real musicians.
@@CHRIS-xm1do That is so true...the sht music atm, no REAL musicians. Dylan wrote thirty something albums, the other 2 could have been anybody's
I turn 65 this year. Never thought I would make it past 50s I'm still here. I have to believe GOD has a plan for me.
I'm so glad these performances were filmed!! Almost 20 years before I was born.
Yes it was really a great time for music a really great time to be alive it was a Renaissance in music. So glad you can appreciate it 20 years ahead
Ron Wood: ‘In New York, towards the middle of 1985, Bob Dylan rang to ask if I wanted to do a charity gig with him. "Sure," I said.
He showed up at my house to talk about what songs we might do.
Bob was showing me chords when I suggested getting Keith involved. Dylan agreed, so I rang Keith, two hours later the doorbell rang, and there was Keith saying: "So what do you want?"
I said: "Bob is downstairs, be nice to him." He followed me in and threw open his arms: "Bob...So great to see you!"
The three of us started rehearsing and got through pretty much the whole Dylan catalogue.
On the day of the gig, a limo came to pick up Keith and me. Before we got in, a truck pulled up with Dylan on board - the driver was his daughter.
Keith looked at me and said: "This better be f****** good."
It was better than good, it was Live Aid.
There were 72,000 people at Wembley Stadium in London, and 92,000 when we played at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, plus 1.5billion people watching on TV in a hundred countries, all to help raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia.
On the stairs up to the stage, Bob said: "Let's do Blowin' In The Wind." I said: "What?" But by then it was too late to argue. I couldn't believe it: that was the only song of his we hadn't rehearsed.
Right in the middle of it, one of Bob's guitar strings broke. I thought fast and handed my guitar to him, leaving me there in front of all those people, playing air guitar.
I was eventually handed another guitar, and when we finished our last song we turned around to find the entire cast on stage behind us’.
Thx for sharing this
Ronnie.... he's just that kind of guy, including Keith, handing Dylan his guitar... just an unselfish person.
The backstory makes this car crash of a performance even funnier. It takes the combination of Ronnie, Baawb and Keef to fuck things up so brilliantly. Gotta love them!
Jack Nicholson introducing Bob Dylan accompanied by Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood... just WOW!
awesome to all
THE CLASSIC MAN , THE BEST !
Vaisin ...so...
Michael Jackson this is it
I'm guessing you have still to listen to it ?
People complaining of them being wasted or stoned. But I've never been able to tell the difference in a stoned Keith Richards and the usual Keith Richards
The usual Keith Richards IS the stoned Keith Richards
Matt Burns lol that’s what I was just about to reply 😂😂😂
@@moonbluebob bruh I wish I could handle my alcohol like that. Endless cocaine must help
Matt Burns Lol. We have to start thinking about what kind of world we’re going to leave to Keith!
@@Dildobagginses yeh the cocaine would sober them up somewhat
The lyrics seem so holy. A hope of Heaven to help. Begging at the "live Aid concert" for help for the poor at so many levels by Bob and all the other artists looking so deluxe them selves in their efforts;you KNOW Heaven was applauding.
Seeing Bob Dylan in concert was on my bucket list. Finally accomplished in 2017. Thank God I got to see him before one of us kicked!
doodahman101 a let down though eh
doodahman101 I planned on seeing him in June but that’s been cancelled I’m so disappointed..
@@MrThedonhead OK, granted, I would have liked to have seen him around "Blood On the Tracks" and "Desire", but hey, it's Bob Dylan. He's a fucking living legend!
I took the chance to see Dylan back in the fall last year. I was in awe of this living legend. Wish I gotten a picture.

As a young punker at the time this is where I got hooked on Dylan, I know it was criticised at the time but I loved it and 'Ballad of Hollis Brown' is still in my top ten Dylan songs.

I was lucky enough to watch it live on my TV when I was 27 years old. That LiveAid marked my life!

Wow 1985 .. my hero ...listening in 2019... noble prize ... songs that have made my life... Bob... the answer is blowing in the wind. You are my hero ... all of the best Keith R. And on and on...sounds the best... Bob, we are old..but you are still my hero... born the same year. Bob we are on the downside of life... but your music lifts me up to my younger age..
3:37 the look Bob Dylan gives Ronnie during Keith's "solo". Priceless.
maybe bc he didn't play a solo
I was in between living situations at the time and i watched it in the Bus station in Colorado Springs on one of those little TV's that you had to feed with quarters to watch..Made it all that more special..I'm a relic from a bygone era, lost in a world of Cultural Oblivion.

So sweet that Ronnie gave up his guitar when Dylan's string broke. You don't see it folks, but he proceeded to air guitar until another guitar came out for him. He even chucked a Townshend windmill👍😊❤
ROTFL for Townsend's windmill
He was probably so wasted he didn’t mind or care
Blowing(air) in the wind(mill) > air windmill > windmill on air guitar ... there's the cracked code
@@napomania the guitar, my friend, is blowin in the wind

Awww, gonna be a long while before we can gather like this again!!! But--we can cherish it here.
OMG…Bob Dylan…leader of the pack! Love you Bobby!
Just saw him September 23, 2023 at Farm Aid (Noblesville, IN)! He's iconic and will forever be BOB! There's no mold left for another one! He did great and was a great surprise (Hell he's 82 and Willie's 90!) He honored our late Tom Petty backed with the Heartbreakers!
The legend of folk music Bob Dylan forever
76 anni vissuti con musiche così, si scivola facilmente verso i 100 anni senza invecchiare.
When I was very young my dad would play me old
Folk and country songs on his guitar this was my favourite
So this song brings back so many childhood memories and this performance is sick

I worked on Bob's tour in 76, Earls Court, London. Last saw him at the Apollo Theatre, Manchester a few years ago. Legend
I saw Bob Dylan perform at a basketball venue in Denver..2000’s
I was surprised that his music was not valued as it should be. Now in 2022, it is. 💗
I don’t know who you mix with but I first saw Dylan in the 1960s. The audience valued it all right and I’m sure that those that are still alive still do !
"not valued in the 2000's"? Have you been under a rock or are you only ten? He has been admired and respected since the 60's.
Maybe you should consider that it was an audience who must not have been too familiar with Dylan, didn't get his message or talent.
Bob is the greatest modern music writer of our history!
Paul Simon and Fogerty have something to say about it.
@@aaronaragon7838 Bob won an oscar

Well, much has been said about the "state of mind" these 3 legends were in during this performance. I am from Australia and stayed up all night for Live Aid, still remember the magic I felt when Bob Dylan came out and announced Keef and Ronnie.....these moments happen once in a lifetime, don't complain....just enjoy the magic!
Bob Dyland……and where are they 😂😂
Casts away his guitar and doesn’t miss a beat - genius !
God bless Bob Dylan ! Many songs come from the Heavens ! Thank you so much !
Que trio de feras, só feras!!! Não fazem mais exemplares como estes. Privilégio de minha geração
Tinhamos preciosidades!
Was there with my 8 year old daughter who is now 42. We met Chevy Chase at our hotel after the show and Tom Petty.Dick Gregory, Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffian and got yheir autographs
he knew that the essence of his songs are about the philosophical aspects and poetic beauty in them, even melodies don't matter much
What a professional Ronnie, is, keenly aware at all times. Bob's strings break, within seconds Ronnie transfers his guitar to Bob, and the show goes on!
That was a pathetic performance by Ron Wood on guitar, obviously you are not a guitarist you
God that is just so beautiful! Thank you all so much!
Hi,how is the weather today,i hope is good?
Bob Dylan has a unique voice and I think one of the greatest.
I don't know about that. But it fits his style. He ain't no Pavarotti
Blowing away in the wind , the Thoughts we Have and how miraculously we can still cherish the Voices and Guitar Play , of these great Minstrels of our Time
Love this Song because my teacher played it on guitar for my 5th grade class ❤ Great memory’s ❤
I've been following Zimmerman since about 1964. He inspired me to take up guitar and singing. He proved that if you can't sing or play guitar , it doesn't matter !
I was right down by the stage for most of the show what a time it was . Went with a friend the night before and we stood on top of a tractor trailer truck to watch Mick and Tina Turner practice their set to an empty stadium. That was very cool :)
how very cool. so worth your effort. for sure your feet did not touch the ground for a while after that brush with heaven
BOB DYLAN!!! I am in tears!!! Praise the lord!!! Thank you BOBBY Z
I was 15 when Live Aid happened. I remember I watched the whole thing. This is the first time I've seen this performance since it happened. This song and Queens performance are the only ones that I truly remembered. Good to finally see this again.
@Ronnie Wood if this is really you or someone who represents you. I'm honored. But thanks. Stones fan for life.
oh, I was so impressed with that I saw the scene Keith helped to change Bob Dylan that showed how the other musicians respect Bob Dylan,
He gave us the answer to every rhetorical and/or philosophical question so very long ago... Blowing IN the wind.
Now this is is the moment Keith looked to his side and found somebody more stoned than him
👍🤣🤣🤣
Keith is a big singer. ...
@Ronnie Wood god bless You (if You are The real ronnie)
Probably the most moving and unforgetable song of Bob Dylan.
Dylan is a true winner. He can be himself all the time and win.
They were high as kites. Out of their minds. Amazing😂
This is most definitely a musical treat. This is a musical experience that is absolutely priceless and epic. 🎉🎉

Glad I was born when I was to live through such times.
I was 20 years old watching this. Doesn't seem that long ago. Glad these three gentlemen are still with us and still playing.
Woow! Jack Nicholson, Bob Dylan, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood... unforgettable experience!
Glad to hear this sounding so much better now than then!
Like Led Zeppelin doing Stairway To Heaven earlier that day this just sounds better than it should because the two songs preceding it were so much worse.
I'm still waiting for Keith Richards's solo
We all have for 50 year's
Richard was able to stand upright? LOL
'I'm still waiting for Keith Richards's solo'..... Do you not think it might be a little difficult to play a 'solo' on an acoustic guitar in a vast stadium ? Is there a solo in the original song ?
@@Unsung_Earth Why ? Is he not known for being a rhythm guitarist ? And the writer of some of the greatest rock records ever.
Bob looked at Ron Wood and shrugs. Ronnie smiles.

Great show. It's funny how Dylan went electric at the Newport Folk Festival, and yet here at Live Aid not only he but Keith Richards and Ron Wood all go acoustic. I'll never forget Live Aid!
Maybe all drunk, stoned or too less sleep, somehow amazing strange for such great musicians. I saw it live in those days. Thanks for uploading, I always was searching for it

The Dylan quote above is legitimate. I merely posted it here; the words are Dylan's, not mine.
My little dumb joke in the thread below about ants is mine, however, but the quote above is from an interview Dylan did in 2009.
