A Day in the Life of a Homeschool Mom of 5 Kids | SAHM Homeschool Day

  • I have 5 kids in 5 different grades. They all need me all the time and we use a LOT of different homeschool curriculum. I am a stay at home mom who has always homeschooled her kids and I love sharing our homeschool routine with you to help you have a better idea of what is a normal, regular homeschool day. In my house, it's chaotic, it's imperfect, it's frustrating at times and it takes a lot of patience... but it's fun and engaging and there is definitely NEVER a dull moment.
Being a working homeschool mom, running my homeschool blog, writing, and managing my home and family is insane. This isn't staged, this is a real life homeschool day. I thought the music was a perfect depiction of the circus it sometimes feels like.
    Enjoy!

This was super encouraging. This is pretty similar to our days. I think I need more coffee because there have been some times where I accidentally fell asleep on the couch during our history read along. Hahaha

I thank God that I found this channel ❤️ I do not homeschool but with my 5 kids being out of school because of the coronavirus I literally thought I was going to lose it. My kids are in the 6th grade, 2 in 4th, 1st and pre k. I run an at home business as well as I am enrolled in college courses. I was feeling overwhelmed with how I was going to schedule everything but after finding your channel I do feel a lot better ❤️❤️ At least now I can see how this is done

Love this day in the life!! Your sons shirt being on backwards and inside out reminded me SO much of my 10 year old son 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤣 LITERALLY EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

Just have to say, I needed to see this! Especially the ending where you started that if you try to do work then school doesn't get done. I have 3 kids and if I try to do any kind of work while we do school, it dont get done. The kids get sidetracked and won't work independently. Thank you for this video!

Mom of 5 too. i struggle last year teaching them. I want to send my kids back 2 school due to different levels. Way easier if same level or content/material but dig deeper for each level. How are u teaching ur kids? With your own style. That would be great! but I had to use the school packets and labtops and they 3x the work for each student just cause they were home. Kids didn't even know how to use the laptops and I had to take pics of there work up load zoom meetings for each teacher etc. I also had a infant breastfeeding, a toddler potty training, cooking and cleaning etc mom stuff. I felt my kids all need tutors because the 30mins worksheets took 3hours per kid. Oldest in middle school Has 10 diff classes. He passed but Barely I mean I was so sad and proud because WE gave our all but the system was so flawed. I have no clue if I can do another year. I don't know how I made it this far. I love my kids and are blessings but my $ to tight for paying for online schools. Last year my kids went through hell. they all were very sick 1 in hospital for a whole week over the summer. other then we moved in the fall. Then covid19 in the spring. How can I make it to where I can teach my own style vs pubic school?

I'd suggest starting off with looking up your local homeschool laws, finding local homeschool groups on social media for questions and support, and researching curriculum within your budget 💕

Yes the music is perfect I love it loved it the second I heard it like yup perfect, as my 8, 5, almost 6, and 4 year old get all competitive and emotional over a game of matching cards of shapes and colors🤯yea, I know you know lol🤦‍♀️ I'm like "your all winners to mommy!!" As my 1 and 2 year old tiredly fight for attention on my lap, one each knee. Gotta love it!

I just re-discovered you about four weeks ago after searching for help for new homeschooling moms. You have been such a blessing to me with your encouragement, honesty and transparency. You were very relatable as I had a very similar homeschooling/public school experience as you. I am so thankful I stumbled across you on FB during this time in our lives! First year of homeschooling, hopefully many more to come. Keep up the great information and positive energy!! Sending thanks from Michigan, USA!

We follow.our own sleep schedule. Its awesome very relaxed. However with 5 yikes yes it would probably need a bit.more. nice to see how others do homeschooling though:)

What do you think about “unschooling”. I don’t have kids school age, but just curious your thoughts. There’s a lot of talk about homeschooling in my community here in the Netherlands, and unschooling is one of the methods some Moms are considering (or combining).
