Best Motorcycle Seat Cushion! Butt Buffer Saved my @$$!

  • We thoroughly tested the Butt Buffer motorcycle seat cushion during a 9 day, 3200-mile motorcycle trip to Sturgis 2020 on multiple bikes, including touring and non-touring models. I also tested the Butt Buffer seat pad on my Kawasaki KLR 650 while adventuring and off-road riding. I don't care if you think you have the best seat on your motorcycle, because your butt will still get sore and achy if you're riding long distances and for multiple days. And many of us suffer from varying degrees of lower back pain, which can get worse during these long motorcycle road trips. Our findings were that the Butt Buffer motorcycle seat pad definitely helps with both these issues.

I bought my Butt Buffer from a local shop and have used it for a year and a half, great product, very comfortable all the way around. It never gets too hot in the summer and warms up fast in cold weather by body heat. I still have the stock seat on my '15 SGS and I was looking at different models when I found the Butt Buffer and tried it. Glad I didn't have to spend hundreds on a new seat. I've ridden several multi-day, multi-thousand-mile trips since I bought it and I can testify, no more sore butt!

I've tried literally just about every seat pad there is, and quite a few of the aftermarket seats also such as Corbin, Mustang, Sargent, Ultimate, Saddlemen, and Russell. The Russell was my favorite of the seats, but they're not cheap. Of all the seat cushions I've tried, I'm the happiest with the Pro Pad SuprCruzr sheepskin pad I have now on the hammock seat of my 2018 Road Glide Ultra. I have suffered tailbone pain for years riding, and this pad has a tailbone cutout which has significantly increased the time I can go between saddle breaks. I've tried other pads that had this cutout, but for whatever reason they didn't work near as well for me.

I got one of these in Nova Scotia over 3 years ago and have used it on two bikes now. Love it. I got mine with the black trimmed sheepskin (I dont see that option on your link but it is on their website and well worth the extra few $$) and it fits my seat perfect. Although I ditched the elastic straps and used the four small loops to permanently tie it to the seat. The sheep skin lets your arse breathe on hot days but also keeps it warmer on the cold days. I just couldnt stand paying big $$ for an aftermarket seat and this really made all the difference.

I just had a seat custom fitted to me by a company named Cycle Ops USA out of Florida. I shipped him my seat and told him my height weight and inseam. It was for my Victory Vision and it cost me 1100.00 dollars. I had a hard time justifying that cost for a bike that is basically obsolete but I like it. Before I could only ride 1/2 hour and in squirming and stopping within a hour. Now I can fill the bike and basically ride it gas stop to gas stop. I’m thinking about sending my Electra Glide original seat in and having that one done. It’s a lot of money but it was worth it to me. I may try the seat pad on my KLR 650.

If I am an aggressive rider, you think the Medium 12"x 16" a okay compromise? I do have lower back issues and not too much in the butt department. Thanks in advance for the input! 👊

After ten years of not riding I found a deal while visiting in late summer in Wisconsin for an Electra Glide Classic. My wife and I needed to ride it home to Southwestern Texas. First day ok but the second day I was aching after 75 miles. We did an emergency Wal-Mart run and found gel seat cushions for $25. Helped a little but still pretty miserable the next three days. Should I buy an $800 Corban seat? That is $800 down the drain if it is no help. $87.50 is a much better price.

Chief, did you know, the padded inserts in cycle shorts are available as a separate item, I think am correct in saying that both men and women shape are different (diff pelvic shape) the idea is when the current pads need replacing you obtain a new pad you just need get it sewn in.

Why not change out the sucky OEM foam and replace it with the correct amount of memory foam for your weight? AND you also cut out a little hole under your tail bone for decreased lower back pain and leg fatigue. Seriously low cost solution from your local upholstery shop.

We have some with the Corbin. Add the Butt Buffer pad when riding 9 plus days in a row and 3500 miles and then you're set. We've ran nearly every seat known and you'll still get sore and achy at some point. Also depends on your condition. Many suffer from lower back issues. Ride safe.
