One of the very few top players that have come from Europe and taken the MLS seriously. He knows he is above the average talent level here but he doesnt drag himself around the pitch like Pirlo Gerrard, or Lampard use to do. He looks like he is playing full effort, get it Schweiny!

Well alot of top footballers look at MLS as the retirement league but Giovinco and Bastian prove that you can still make a difference in the clubs direction. Not just on the pitch to knock the ball around

It is so nice seeing Bastian in a team where he is utilized and can make such a deadly pass and alter the game. It is a shame he was treated poorly by Man UTD. But as the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure and boy howdy have Chicago gotten a golden oldie
Best part for the Fire is he isn't even that old. At 32, he could have a few solid years left in him (if he resigns with them and his health holds up).

He will give his best for his team, no strutting about like a Superstar. He knows the team comes first and I would be very surprised if he won´t make a big difference for Chicago Fire.
