I think this video is so important for a lot of people out there. There is this idea that an influencer or a CZcamsr just do something fun and gets paid a lot of money, and so many teenagers and even kids want to become one. And the reality is so different! It's just a job like any other, with responsibilities, long hours, stress, etc. Obviously, that your work is doing something that you love is super important, and helps to balance those things. It’s wild to me that you don’t get more hits on your CZcams videos. I love watching you create, paint, draw, and edit on procreate. I’m surprised the paint community hasn’t jump on board! ❤
From the first video I've watched from you I've appreciated your candid approach and talent! That said, you are entitled to privacy with your business and work, so hopefully you never feel pressured to share behind the scenes info (though it is fascinating of course)!
Also if you do retire any stickers please, please warn us! I waited for ages for the demon cats to come up again and if you retired then I'd definitely buy more before they went ❤

Yeah, we Patrons want those exclusive Charles stickers! hahah 😛 Thank you so much for this video, it was very illuminating! I kind of knew bits and pieces of the backend of the business but it's very eye-opening when all laid out together. And I think that not having all the cutting machines and already having the sticker printing outsourced has let you be very mobile globally 💖 (and we got to "go along with you" to Hawaii and Japan etc in your videos!) RE: the culture of brands not wanting to pay creators for sponsorships but just giving free product, that's a big struggle in the book review/bookstagram/booktube community too - where publishers expect a lot of free work in exchange for a book or a swag box....😵💫 (like, it's one thing to send a review copy and hope for a good review to post, but to expect interviews and fancy graphics and promotion and lots of investment from the creator etc etc, that requires more than "here's a finished copy of a book that retails for 28$") Looking forward to see the advent calendar when it's time! 🥰

Please change or better, add to your title of this video (in the beginning of it) a few words like: " how much money i make, a honest talk about my finances etc". In this way this video will have more traction and can become viral, which will bring you not only revenue, but also subscribers. This kind of videos, with the right title and hashtags, are the most watched on youtube and bring the most to their creators, regardless of the content (niche). Must be a direct reference to the subject in order for the algorithm to react to your video. And maybe another video in January or feb. 2024 with a recap of your structured earnings (approximative) based on your analytics. Go for it, your journaling sessions are so nice to watch and your art is amazing, you deserve more.

Anyways, this was a very interesting video, as a fellow artist and aspiring journaling channel/creator I hope to do some of the same stuff you do. I do not spend the same amount of time in my stuff as you probably do and I am only thinking about expanding to stickers or physical stuff yet so this gives me hope that one day I can achieve what I would like to do. I need to work part time to be able to pay down my loans so hearing you talking about your own business so openly is very appreciated and very insightful to what I can hope to do myself one day.

I'm happy you liked it! Honestly, it was a lot of googling. Most businesses (understandably) don't share their manufacturers, so it was a lot of research. I wanted to produce my stickers within Europe, so I had less options to go with than if I included the whole world in my search. Most printshops have sample packs available, so I ordered several sample packs and tested the materials and quality before going with one of them :) For other products (that I'm just now getting manufactured) it was pretty much the same process, although this time I was ok with the manufacturer not being in Europe, since I won't be ordering as often, so shipping times won't be as big of an issue :)

Many brands take advantage of creators who want to grow, because it kind of looks good to have sponsors, you know? Like it shows “the world” that you create something of value, in a way, and it might entice more brands to sponsor you. I’m not saying it’s the case for everyone, because it really isn’t. And there are some really great brands who pay for “influencer ads”. But sadly there are many who don’t. And sometimes, just receiving the free product is beneficial to the creator, like maybe they want to do a review without feeling like they need to say nice things, or they want to compare products, or something like that. No contract and no payment means the company has no right to demand a certain type of content, at least in my book😅
