- Tamara Mena's Graduation Speech
Tamara Mena Perez received her degree in Communications from California State University Stanislaus on May 27th, 2011. She graduated with honors: Summa Cum Laude, Student Speaker at Graduation, and J. Burton Vasché Award. The award is given annually to a student who displays, "the highest standards of leadership, cooperation, participation, service and scholarship." It is named in honor of the university's founding president.
Tamara's goals were tragically interrupted when she suffered a spinal-cord injury during car accident. Her speech tells of her struggles and her fight to success.
