Thank you for putting this up. Great to hear Mike Ratledge talking extensively. Interviewer, was well informed and brought out some interesting answers. Allan Holdsworth seemed very good-humoured.
Mike Ratledge always seems aloof and somewhat intimidating from his photos, but I shouldn't be surprised that he's a really nice, shy and unassuming guy
Listening to this I just realized that I saw the show in East Lansing that was promoted at the top of the interview (1974): Small venue -predominately Soft Machine Seven and Six-really spicy, wonderful show. Ratcliffe really stood out- very cool persona - as noted. By the PR guy “ good time was had by all”

I saw that group in Mtl in 1974 and the arrival of Ethridge was a little bit surprising. We are used to the Soft's without guitars but he did a great job. I consider him the one of the most underated guitarist of that area. Ratledge was and still my hero since the beginnings. They were so different and the work of Ratledge on organ mesmerized me.Thanks to Terry Riley to influence him. I recommand : Soft'S album to realy appreciate the work of that band ans the genius of Ethridge and the rest of the band.... For me they are equivalent of Hendrix ...
Glaciaux ou glacials sont les mots qu'on utilise au pluriel...quant à Maneige , oui bon groupe mais où sont-ils maintenant ??? Oubliés comme tout le prog kébékois...
I believe there is footage of this interview (as seen here czcams.com/video/VA_SekA7OCg/video.html ). Would you happen to have this and if so could you upload it?
This interview, by Dave DiMartino, was done on WMSN (Campus Radio) at Michigan State University in March, 1974.
Dave from Creem magazine, too!!

Great interview and interviewer. It must have been a pleasure for them to be questioned by someone who's into the music and the members.
