It went straight to #30 in Billboard Hot 100 chart, the first for a K-pop soloist song. Later with Like Crazy he debuted #1 in Billboard Hot 100. The first Korean soloist and with Korean song. The first Asian soloist to do so after Billboard's 60-year history (last Asian, Japanese, to get it was in 1963). He also first K-pop soloist to become #1 in Billboard Artist 100. He did all that without US radio, company push etc.

This song is the last song in his solo album Face, which is a chronological narration of what he went through the pandemic. He made this Album to set himself from the darkness he was in so he cam free himself and ready get back on his feet to be able to perform again and face their Army in Concert.
The choreography represents the different fragments and levels of his mental state at this time, struggling to fight against all the negative noise inside his heads. The hand movements represents his struggles from getting rid of all the negative thoughts. At the end of the day, he took charge and set himself free.

It takes a lot to impress someone like me. At my age, I've seen and heard it all. Jimin is a unique and extremely talented artist. He is the whole package. It was such a thrill and pleasure to discover him. All his solo songs are gems and so different to each other. But they all have one thing in common, and that is Jimin's ability to emote lyrics. His singing, like his dancing, is so expressive. His first solo album, Face, is like a book, each song a chapter. That's why it's best to first listen to the whole album, from start to finish. If not, then you miss out on the very personal story he is trying to tell. Not to mention the beautiful way he is using his voice in Face-off and Alone. I can't talk highly enough of this young man!
He has the best songs. All are masterpieces. A non skip album. Very special one. He works really hard in each song. He is not Lazy and depends on others written songs. He is also involved in the production, choreography, everything. That's the true King of Kpop.

When I first heard this song I was completely shocked, cos its so different from the type of tone I usually heard from Jimin but this, this song and the way he did it was amazing. Also the message he gives with this song, theres a lot he went through (All of them) that ARMY or anyone didn't know about. This is his way of telling himself to be free from outside negativity and his own. He can finally be free, no filter.
